My problem is pretty much described in the title but here is more context and background: My husband I have 2 young kids. We are quite happy to live just down the road from grandmother in law. She loves the grandkids and they love her. She raised my husband. She is also elderly and can't drive or anything so usually she walks to us or we walk to her since it is not far. she has family that lives with her and assists her. She doesn't watch out children since she is quite elderly. The only problems I have had with her are over her giving the kids sweets or saying bad words. Nothing too extreme but she is quite temperamental but I am not so it's usually not problematic. My husband respects her a lot since she raised him but he is well aware of her temperament and some failures. But he has a strong belief in family, which I respect about him and doesn't really tolerate bickering and such among petty problems. He is really intelligent and even though he was raised in a lower class and chaotic environment, he is stable, calm, loving and hard working.

We don't have a lot of help with our children. No gyms around here have childcare. Day cares would charge full time price which we could only afford if I was working which we both agree is not ideal and I enjoy staying home with our kids. No day cares around here except part time. We don't really know any good babysitter candidates. Hesitant to reach out to strangers. So my parents take the kids once a month for 2-4 hours on the weekend. We like to stay in and watch movies, order take out, and cuddle.

The past few times my grandmother in law has shown up and talked to us the whole time. Being a good host and polite is important to me and I don't want to disrespect her. we usually have coffee and a good conversation but I really would prefer to be on the couch and being cozy. Am I out of line for wanting to breech this subject with my husband? I really look forward to just relaxing, the silence, etc. Once a month. And instead I have been having to host her.
