Good video I think. Someone asks for advice about his struggles with misogyny when dating doesn't go well

"Men are not good enough the way they are", they need to make themselves valuable by being impressive, women are good enough the way they are, and don't need to do anything besides looks - thoughts?

You're a fucking idiot. I checked the original source. Here it goes:

SAMPLE:

50% of the sample was FEMALE. Which is obviously going to skew the results, particularly in the sexual debut perspective. HOWEVER, they didn't even measure actual sexual behavior, they simply conclude bullies have more sex appeal because they SELF REPORT to have higher social status, and the authors make the case that this is kinda connected to being sexually attractive LMAO okay.

This was done in a sample of 8th, 9th and 10th graders. Which are probably not models of sexual behavior in general. Nor models of anything in general other than youth stupidity.

RESULTS:

As for the results, here's what the results say:

Post hoc comparisons among the groups revealed that bullies (M = 5.62, SD = 4.21) had a significantly lower level of depression than bully/victims (M = 17.9, SD = 13.14), p = .047. Comparisons of bullies with victims (M = 13.78, SD = 8.39) and bystanders (M = 7.37, SD = 7.45) were not statistically significant

  • So Bullies only have lower depression than the Bully/Victims, but not the other people.

Post hoc analysis showed that bullies (M = 27.69, SD = 2.02) had significantly higher self-esteem than bully/victims (M = 24.64, SD = 2.38, p = .015). The analysis also revealed that bystanders (M = 26.99, SD = 1.96) had significantly higher self-esteem than victims (M = 26.5, SD = 2.42), p = .037. The comparison of bullies with victims was not statistically significant.

  • So,in terms of self-esteem, and once again, Bullies have higher self-esteem than Bully/Victims, but not Victims.

Post hoc analysis indicated that bullies (M = 9.0, SD = 3.51) had a significantly higher social status than bully/victims (M = 4.0, SD = 3.71), p = .013. The analysis also found that bystanders (M = 8.74, SD = 2.58) had a significantly higher social status than bully/victims, p = .008. The comparison between bullies and victims (M = 7.2, SD = 2.38) was not statistically significant (see Table 2).

  • Same pattern for Social Status. Bullies only got higher social status than Bully/Victims but not everybody else.

Social anxiety. No statistically significant differences among the groups were found on the two clusters of the SAAS.

  • This one is self-explanatory ^

So to answer your question... "So science seem to confirm that RPs ideal masculinity is a good strategy and possibly just human nature... so what's your response?"... My response is that you're an endoctrinated idiot, who instead of educating himself on science and checking the original sources, comes here shouting "checkmate" and making a fool out of himself publically.

Most studies can't be reproduced, so I'll just say I straight up don't believe it. Also the bullies at my school went to prison, I'm not sure I'm jealous of the sex they're having in there.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was bullied a lot in school, so there's no way I could track everyone, but had an experience similar to yours. The guy who was the absolute worst bully to me in jr. high and high school ODed from drugs his mother game him on his 21st birthday.

[–]Jakdaxter31 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lmao based on a questionnaire answered by 13 to 16 year olds to determine if they’re bullies or being bullied.

Edit: holy shit it’s actually a self fulfilling prophecy.

“Study find that when you define people who have more self esteem as bullies, then bullies seem to have more self esteem”

[–]Cheshiregrin85 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

They don't have more sex appeal they just ask more people out which means a higher chance of someone saying yes,it's a numbers game,as for happier I doubt they'd admit to being unhappy since it would be viewed as a sign of weakness's so how many are actually happy is questionable and for those who are I'd assume its because they have a social network, low awareness levels which correlates to more happiness and less stress which could explain their sense of undeserved confidence it's called the Dunning Kruger effect and it means people who are less intelligent have a higher estimation of their abilities.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The red pill says that certain types of people are happier. Then they say, "here's how you can be a terrible person, like those happy people." But, if you aren't a terrible person to begin with it's not going to work. The "bullies," they aren't bothered by the terrible things they do. You will be. You have empathy. If you didn't have it, you would have been one of those bullies a long time ago. You won't be happier or sexier if you pretend to be a bully. Just because you start bullying people and being shitty to women, that's not going to morph you into the sort of person who is a bully in school. So, what's going to happen instead is your going to turn into this person who bullies but feels guilty about it. You'll get a couple of dates out of it, because you'll actually be doing something instead of doing the same thing and expecting different results. But you'll have no chance of a meaning relationship with these dates, you might have some sex but it won't be very good, then you'll realize that you still aren't matching up to shit heads you idolize. You'll still be miserable, it'll just be an even more bitter and hate filled miserable that eats at your soul.

Sounds like fun. Go for it.

That basically perfectly encapsulates my experience. I didn't come from the best situation growing up, so, when I was in a position to "woo" women, I wanted to do the opposite. Can't tell you how many times I heard "you're a really nice guy" -- still brings up painful memories -- eventually I figured I'd do the polar opposite. Started to do well with the ladies, but it reminded me too much of my childhood. Growing up I kept telling myself there was no way I'd be like this, and, having it work left a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Growing up I kept telling myself there was no way I'd be like this, and, having it work left a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Yup. Not surprising.

And the third option: to work on yourself and become a better more mature version of yourself capable of flirting with women without trp abusive "techniques." Well, no one ever says that option left a sick feeling in their stomach.

[–]sawyer94117 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Probably cause the better version of themselves lost out to a worse version of themselves.

So telling them to be an even better version doesn't hold much water. Like telling someone to do the same thing and expect a different result.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't understand what your saying.

[–]sawyer94117 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In that being a jerk is a devolution to a baser self. We're all selfish initially, but we grow past that. Therefore, you're suggesting working your way up to what wasn't working in the first place.

I supposed I'm wondering what would constitute being mature? Would it not be a return to form of what didn't work before? Or trying to be even more of that?

(Also, it sort of sidesteps why this behavior is preferential. It's the idea that a guy who's a jerk is more willing to take...meaning he'd have more to share...of course, ignoring that, well, he's a jerk.)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She noted that her findings are limited by a small sample size that
lacks ethnic diversity and by the possibility of omitted variables, such
as how psychopathology may influence a child’s depression level and
likelihood of becoming a bully.

This is literally in the article.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

There’s so much more life to live after adolescence. I think bullies are in fact fucked when they have to enter adulthood.

[–]ChaiVangForever 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Or they become the president of Russia, or they fall ass backwards into the US presidency for four years, or they join other bullies in controlling trillions of dollars in corporate boardrooms..

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

At the end of the day, though, somebody is using them for that. Putin, still, is a puppet.

[–]sawyer94117 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not sure I'd want to be Putin. Always having to worry about assassination and basically being forced to do whatever it takes to keep power to keep himself safe from prosecution. To be the richest person in the world but feel like the walls are constantly closing in? You wouldn't be able to enjoy your position or money much.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Probably has nothing to do with enjoyment and everything to do with control. I’m going to guess someone like Putin was himself bullied. He wanted to join the KGB back in the day. Wanted to be a thug

[–]sawyer94117 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is like saying "drugs make people happier and more willing to seek out risky behavior".

You gotta ask why? What function is this fulfilling? And, like any other "high", you build a tolerance and have to go for more. It's not addressing the underlying behavior. Like putting an ever bigger bandaid on a wound that festers more and more.

Also sounds like the definition of "peaked in high school".

(From an evolutionary perspective, the aggressiveness can be seen as an indicator of willingness to compete/fight dangers that may come along. However, this sort of thing, in today's world doesn't have much traction past high school. Try bullying an office of mature adults and seek how long they'll put up with it. When we're still developing we seek approval or disapproval for our actions. The decent and indifferent stay silent, or speak gently. Therefore it's the jerks that speak loudest.)

[–]DanMarinosDolphins 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's better to go to the original study and not trust these click bait articles made to grab your attention.

https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/0886260515593546

I can't find the full study for free, but there's so key points to note in the abstract. First, these are children not adults that were studied. And both male and female children. It was also just 135 children and all from the same very specific area.

The results showed that bullies were more popular at school and had less poor mental health than those who were bullied.

I think something important to remember as well, is we live in a very homosexual society where men try to impress other men more than they try to impress women. So popularity among men usually points to them being popular among other men, not necessarily popular with women.

[–]sawyer94117 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

and had less poor mental health than those who were bullied.

That's like saying the guards that beat the prisoners with batons had fewer marks. Really? This is what passes for "science" these days? SMH.

Yeah it was pretty "water is wet"

The last paragraph casts justifiable doubt on this study. I work in education and every bully I've taught has had some underlying issue at home or at school. Most of the time it's god awful parents. Also assuming they are happier, happier when? Because my bullies from school who didn't sort themselves out are currently living some of the most embarrassingly subpar and squalid lives you can imagine.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is a study, Provenzano 2017, that yields the same results on women who bully. Younger (13-15) and older (16-19) adolescents were interviewed and asked about their treatment of classmates, their personality, and their sexual partners. Extroverted and bullying girls had more sex. Although the biggest predictor in the study was the age of the students; the older they were, the more sex they had had. And another strong predictor was extraversion. Only in the younger adolescent group was a more direct relationship found between aggression and number of sexual relations.

This study was used by the manosphere boys until they realized that it was talking about female stalkers and not male stalkers.

But my point is, these kinds of findings are not limited to men. So to adduce these kinds of results to a female preference for abuse or a toxic model of masculinity is wrong. People seem to be seduced by people with antisocial traits who are extroverted.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This study compared bullies and victims of bullying. But did it ever compare the bullies to social well adjusted students who didn't bully and didn't get bullied? Its pretty obvious me that the kinds of personality that attracts bullying and the trauma from bullying may have a negative impact on your life.
