So I go out every weekend to Pick Up Chicks and Game. (Yes, I actually do this) In fact, last Saturday, and it seems every weekend I go out now, was the Best Night Of My Life Thus Far Without Question. It was so good that I posed this silly question: "Was Existence Made For Picking Up Chicks?" It is such a beautiful, spiritual, metaphysically succinct activity that one can not help but think as one is balancing effortlessly on the razor's edge of risk and reward that the stars had to have aligned to create such impeccable conditions for the Masculine Experience. Coming from a natural born Kaczynskiite, I can now appreciate modern society for what it has to offer. (Cringe, I know, but just roll with me here)

Anyways, I say this because I want to root my slanderous copy in actually invested time and energy. I am not pulling shit out of my ass to write these posts. At least not yet.

Anyways, Pook's first lesson of his Fifteen Lessons (or so) is "Foresight teaches gently; error teaches brutally." His example is that you don't need a series of failed marriages in order to have a successful one. And here, I must betray my piety for Pook and clarify him. At a certain point in one's life, one's ego begins to harden, to take hold and dominate the youthful soul's influence, and one becomes stuck in one's ways. I feel this happens fairly early in America but I digress. It is at this point that foresight teaches hardly if at all; error becomes necessary.

The ego operates according pleasure and pain but, to be honest, the capacity for pain is much greater than the capacity for pleasure. This is a whole idea in itself but for now, my point is that the ego is far more motivated by escaping pain than achieving pleasure. It is only when the pain is sufficiently sharp that your RAS, your Reticular Activating System (yes it's real), would be open to new choices, new options for improvement towards your goal. I wish I was humble or naive enough to be able to learn from pure suggestion but I have this philosophical need for things to make sense in order for me to believe them at this point in my life. That could be to my detriment but it is what it is and I am not willing to give up my critical thinking for blind irrationalism. (Again, I could be wrong here)

For example, while I did have The Best Night Of My Life Thus Far Without Question last weekend, the night before was quite abysmal. I was tired bored angry and my brain didn't work. It was fucking annoying. My RAS was closed off and I could not talk to anyone and so I forced myself to sit there until the night ended and be mad at myself. So the next night, in order to counter act this dreaded propensity, I finally had the emotional momentum to say "Fuck It", and really, actually, deep in my soul, MEAN IT, and I just started talking to everyone and then subsequently was The Fucking Man and ran The Best Game Of My Entire Life Thus Far.

So, in conclusion, I appreciate what Pook has to say but I find this to be a point of divergence. You NEED the bad nights, the painful failures, in order for your ego to give up its hold. Your ego is holding you in stasis for the sake of self-preservation. It doesn't give a fuck about your soul or your goals. You need to break its buck and take the reins back on this chariot - you Idyllic Stallion of The Red Pill subreddit! The glory which awaits you on the other side is too great!

And with this new perspective, this new appreciation for the pain and frustration and failure so characteristic of Actually Living Your Life and Putting Yourself Out There to get what you want, you will no longer fear the whips and slashes that life will dish out to you! So minor they are now in the face of your Destiny!
