Shops/companies appealing to women by insulting men

As a Polish guy, I can say it sadly is an old expression used in Polish. Although I agree it shouldn't be used anymore. In fact I hear it or see it much, much less often than 10 or 20 years ago.

Btw. as a gay man I also strongly disagree with the idea, that men are less attractive😅

Next trivia from Poland for non-Polish readers:

In Poland we have also Rossmann, another cosmetic company. And they also help women and ignore men's issues.

They have an action: "Pomagamy jak umiemy kobietom" ("We help women, as we can"). They help teenage mothers, girls who exit orphanages, women suffering from domestic violence etc. They don't help teenage fathers, boys who exit orphanages and men suffering from domestic violence.

Double standards of companies...

Well, there seems to be a demand by a large audience of women for insulting/making fun of men otherwise why would companies use it as a marketing tactic?

This did happen in India. I believe Cars24 made an ad joking about husband beatings in which two women casually suggest beating their husbands. They were condemned by mens rights groups but I don't what they did to the ad.

Happens in the US. There was a clothing shop in my town that had a chalk board out front telling boyfriends to wait outside, along with some related drivel.

In more conservative societies, males are assumed to be the ugly ones in a relationship. It’s part of the strict gender roles that assigns women as the sex that has to take care of their looks. It’s an insult to men but at the same time a reminder for women to not stop taking care of their more precious asset : looks.
