What's your perspective about a leftist response to the Red Pill doc?

One or two leftists discussing men's sufferring, without the usual leftist bigotry, is not a convincing argument. The left has supported #METOO, Title IX kangaroo courts, affirmative consent (but only for men), etc etc etc.

Men's rights is not inherently progressive/left unless you believe only the left can be progressive.

I want nothing to do with a political activist who wants to hijack the men's rights movement, just like they've hijacked and destroyed other social rights movements.

[–]AnuStart06 37 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The left and right wing don't care about mens rights because a very small percentage of most voting populations care about mens rights. You can't anger 90 percent of your voting demographic to apease the small percent that care about men's rights. That's why nothing gets done. Most men are pathetic loosers that would rather vote for female interests and most women are selfish and entitled and also vote for female interests.

[–]patxiku93 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One side will shout "patriarchy oppresses women", the other "think of the woman and children" and men get ignored and shafted.

[–]Ibetrayed_makarov 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's sad but true, people suck,

[–]Alarming_Draw 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Jordan Petersen describes how both the Hard Left and the Hard Right are nearly the same points on an imaginary circle. Once extremism comes into it the same shit appears. Selfishness, greed, stupidity. In this case, in the form of expecting men to just be worthless crumbs to sacrifice to the God of 'women'...

[–]tasfa10[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

All politics isn't just voting. The left in particular know this well. There's plenty of necessary political action besides voting and what gets done by the government. Also, incorporating men's issues wouldn't anger 90 percent of the voting demographic is MRAs weren't constantly this antagonistic. There's no point in calling all me pathetic losers and all women selfish and entitled. This is the sort of thing that keeps men's issues away from mainstream politics.

[–]SamaelET 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

MRAs meeting are often disturbed. There is also the treat of doxxing and of violence. The only hope is lobbying using legal and bureaucratic processes. But this is hard since it is controlled by feminism.

Define constantly antagonistic. Do you mean saying things like "Kill all women" or "all women are rapists" ? Asking for a curfew for women ? Disturbing talks on female issues, female suicide or International Women's Days in universities ? Labelling femininty toxic ? Sucessfully invisibilizing male abusers and female victims and stopping laws and policies from protecting female victims and punishing male abusers ? Getting quotas for men for job/education opportunies ? Getting privileges for criminal sentences or conscription ?

[–]PFfounder 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Well, there are leftists supporting the MRA movement, like me.

[–]tasfa10[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

We're a small minority tho and I'm worried that people who identify issues that affect men in particular are pushed to the right.

[–]PFfounder 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Actually no, I did a poll some months ago.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/sjtukx/are_do_you_consider_yourself_part_of_the_classic/

The MRA community is not one sided at all.

[–]tasfa10[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't know what I can take from that as only a couple of people commented. I think the mods have a poll somewhere. The majority are right wingers. A lot of american republicans, a lot of libertarians, a lot of so called "classical liberals" and then a lot of american democrats which are still right wing. There's barely anyone from the left here. Also "alt-left" man... Yikes

[–]PFfounder 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What has the alt left wrong?
According to my definition it's the part of the left that opposes woke.

[–]Alarming_Draw 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

theres an occasional poster on this sub who is the extreme version of that and I suspect a troll, as they post such toxic shit-literally saying if you ever voted Left he "wants to kill you as you are my enemy", regularly posts the most racist shit on the far right subs, says Africa is full of "Monkey fucking n***ers who caused aids".

I dont believe mra pushed him at all-as I say, its either a psychopath, or a clever troll trying to divide the MRA along hard right/hard left lines.

Lurking Drifter is the name used by the 'person'. Be wary.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Leftists helping men seems cool and all, until they blame capitalism for everything as usual. Yikes. It's pretty much the same as feminists blaming patriarchy. You're mistaken if you think that's what I'm looking for.

[–]tasfa10[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

What's the point you're trying to make?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I thought it was pretty self explanatory.

[–]tasfa10[S] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

That it would be fine to support men's rights but only if we don't point out the issues with capitalism...? Because somehow capitalism is like patriarchy...? Uh ok then, whatever you say

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

When you people criticise capitalism, it's almost always a dogwhistle for ending economic freedom. So no thank you. Typical leftist. Blocked.

Edit: Oh no, cry harder.

[–]Epipha-tree 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Two comments in and you've made up your mind about the guy and assumed everything he thinks so you have blocked him? You sound just as bad as the feminists to me to be honest

[–]Fearless-File-3625 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, making two comments full of assumptions and then blocking is a certified feminist behaviour. lol

[–]For_Never_Dreams 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm sure he's the kind of guy that thinks because he goes to the store and buys groceries and drives a leased Toyota sienna he's "participating in the capitalist economy".

Left mens rights only want water best for left men

[–]Sydnaktik 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Shoutout to /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates

Men's rights is inherently a progressive, left wing effort.

The fact that those in politics who claim to be on the left are anti-egalitarian and regressive when it comes men's rights, doesn't change the fact that equal rights for men is left wing.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah it's nothing to do with left/right.

It's to do with female entitlement and the fear of a zero sum game when it comes to equality.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In theory. But in practice, we all see how it's going.

[+]Long-Zookeepergame82 -10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Left wing Male Advocate = Let's provide safety nets for men.

Right wing Male Advocate = If women want equal rights, let's bring them down to our level.

[–]PFfounder 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ehm no?
I don't understand why people think right wings are all bad nazis (when they just have different opinions about certain things).

[–]nacho-chonky 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No the left wants to grow the size of the government... the same government that forces sexist laws on us and keeps us away from our own children. I firmly believe you can’t support men’s rights and be a statist

[–]tasfa10[S] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not all the left is "statist", in fact the majority are not. Many on the left are anarchists and even communists want the state to wither away. The state that they consider to be necessary in the meantime is not the same type of state we have today but a state of the people. On the contrary, capitalism can only exist where there is a strong state. The extent to which libertarians want the state to be smaller only relates to public services and the type of thing that benefit the people. At the same time, the richest of the rich will always be the ones with the greater influence over the state and will always play it in their favor. It's not just out of stupidity that while they claim they can't afford this or that public service, they carry on with subsidies for the biggest industries, they bail them out when necessary, they allow them their loopholes in order to avoid taxes and so on. If you see a problem with both the state and the private sector, you belong in the left.

[–]nacho-chonky 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can’t have leftist economic ideas without a state enforcing it, ok sure they might want the state to wither away apparently but it directly conflicts with any possible version of a functioning country
