How has being a mens rights activist affected your dating/social life? Are you "open" about it?

I've been lucky to where nearly everyone I've interacted with has mostly understood, or even agreed. the only notable thing for me is when my ex tried to suggest she felt i was a misogynist because of my involvement here and how "i only ever talk about men's issues", even though i don't just talk about mens issues .

though, i don't go around actively advertising myself an an MRA, it is clear to anyone who knows me that i heavily support men's rights, and im not a huge fan of feminism.

but, this has been my experience, and i doubt its been as positive for most people.

For me it was more the other way around. I figured out dating and marriage was biased against men (and therefore me) long before I ever heard of a men’s rights movement. Seeing this bias along with others is what got me interested in gender issues, men’s rights, etc.

I consider myself more of an egalitarian than a MRA. I oppose discrimination regardless of the group being targeted.

As far as reactions from others, I felt a lot of pressure to marry when I was younger but that faded away with time. I still encounter the occasional couples oriented events I’m excluded from even though single women are often included. I’ve also come across a few resorts, travel tours, clubs, etc., that allow single women but not single men.

I’m 58. I had one guy I’ve known since high school ask me point blank if I was an MRA. It’s put a crimp in that relationship and many others.

In my own experience, women respect men that challenge them and don't agree with them. I've had women tell me that they've "never had men call them out on their shit" and they appreciate it. Women like men with a spine... they don't like/respect feminist men. They prefer masculine men not these simps that are so rampant these days... Women want to be challenged plain and simple.

Edit: I don't go around saying that I'm a MRA, I just do it. I'm egalitarian through and through

I'm not open about it...

Depending on the person/context: When relevant topics come up I speak my mind without using labels

Most people are idiots when it comes to gender issues.

Knee jerk gynocentrism. Rabid feminism. The usual stupidities
