Here is my story.

I went to undergrad in North Carolina (Research Triangle) and had an amazing time there, the people were nice and the girls were very approachable. After undergrad I spent a year after college living in Charleston, which was one of the best cities I have ever been too. Immediately after leaving Charleston, I worked in Nashville for about 3 years before heading off to grad school in Athens which took me about a couple of years to complete. After Athens, I moved to Atlanta a couple of years ago and man do I regret coming to this state.

Before I move on to Atlanta, let me tell you guys about my experience in Athens.

The bartenders at most of the bars were rude, people in general were very douchey (and I am used to being in college towns but Athens was a different animal), tons of cynical jaded hipsters, frat boys looking to AMOG any male stranger, and I have not even gotten to the girls yet. For all the hype that exists about UGA and how it has some of the hottest girls in the south, I was disappointed. Tons and tons of 4s, 5, and 6s but not only that, I was surprised at the amount of feminazis and tumblerina types I ran into there.

From my time being there, the only hot girls at the school were in a sorority for the most part and those were well out of reach if you weren't a frat bro. The girls were much colder, rude, and stuck up than anywhere else in the south I've been and that's despite not even being nearly as good looking as southern girls in other areas. Tons and tons of girls with massively inflated egos in one college town, it was hell.

Then I moved to Atlanta and it is just as bad here. A lot of the UGA kids move back to work here and it starts to feel like a giant high school clique among 20 somethings, your frat or sorority still matter well after college.

Now it isn't just that, I've also found that the people here are confrontational, rude, pretentious, and just angry for some reason. Everyone is just trying to beat their own chest and declare themselves the king of the mountain and the girls, man where do I even begin, probably the stuck up anywhere else I've been to in the south. Not only are the girls stuck up but they also talk a lot of shit unlike southern girls from elsewhere and they seem to love to pick fights or actively seek out drama. I also find that having conversations with a stranger and cold approaching here is a bitch, the bitch shields are the highest anywhere else in the south I've been to.

People in Atlanta seem really really image conscious, like more so than anywhere else I've been, but having status in their crowds is either being actually famous (a rapper) or being in a certain frat back in college. It's like they are all still stuck in high school.

Granted I am mainly going for white girls but I went for white girls in Charleston and Nashville too, had no issues!

I've also gotten the feeling that the people in this state are very sinister in a way, like everyone is trying to plot or scheme against someone else and it is tough to trust people here. My family is originally from New York and even though people there were rude, the whole sinister and devious act wasn't there behind it, it was just a person being rude.

One other thing, I am cool with black people and have gotten along well with the African American population in other southern states but in Georgia it is a different story. You don't get a lot of the kind and cool black people here like you would in other southern states, just a lot of angry, arrogant, and ghetto thug types.

I can't describe it in words any longer and I really want to get out of here soon but seriously, what is up with this state?
