I was reading this thread for a while and found it strange. Basically this person is complaining about how they're not having sex and don't feel wanted or desired and is saying it's 'traumatising' her, giving her 'borderline PTSD' feelings and destroying her confidence

I'm confused by the responses. In a way I've felt a lot like her, mainly the feeling wanted and desired it and feeling disheartened by lack of intimacy. When I express these feelings I usually get told the same things, that sex isn't that important or special, I shouldn't feel entitled to it, desperation is a turn off and I should focus on building a fulfilling life without sex and being confident. I've seen other people in a similar position to myself be told the same things as well

However not many people are saying the same stuff to her but are instead validating her. I shared with her the same advice thatbive received in the past and gotten downvotes for it

I just wondered why we would be treated differently? There isn't much difference between us, both wanting to feel desired by someone, yet for some reason we're treated differently. Obviously there's the difference that she has a partner, but I don't see how that would change much, like the root problem is still the same between us
