All the memories you see making with them out in the distance all of a sudden get halved, if you’re lucky and get 50% custody. 18 years raising your kid turns into 9 or less just like that.

Divided custody puts distance between parent and child. So half the time we're not in control and that is hard to deal with because our worries amplify. And of the child is a girl the worry is more intense, as we all know what high school and college boys are capable of I was in college in the early 1980s and things happened then, scandalous but almost routine things that led to no charges or complaints but that today would result in arrests and convictions. So, in that sense, there is a greater awareness
