There are a several expat communities often mentioned where you can get by with English. I’m sure a Google search will reveal which appeal to you.

Belize is English speaking but the mainland isn’t considered a good option for Americans. Most of the foreigners vacation on the islands.

It depends on what you are interested in. If your passion in life is opera, Italy should should be your destination. If winter sports are your thing, Canada might be a good bet. Your first job is to find what is important to you.

To this end, I suggest you do some serious backpacking, on the cheap around the world and for a good length of time, at least a couple of years.

Moving because it is cheaper is a horrible reason to move anywhere. If you don’t speak the language you cannot assume that there will be a group of English speakers who will welcome you with open arms and are willing to translate for you. If you are lucky enough to find a group that will help you they probably won’t be willing, after a period of time, to continue to help with day to day problems.

You also can’t just pack up and move to another county because you want to. There are laws regarding immigration that can take years (and varying levels of income) to complete. All of this will be in Spanish, which will require the services of an interpreter or service, if one is available.

The day to day life can be complicated as well. You will need to learn a whole new way of doing things like having water and gas tanks delivered to your house. The neighbors may help you but if they don’t you will be on your own again.

The cultures vary from country to country so you will need either to have done your research or move from Place to place until you find a place you love.

You will have to figure out a way to get money from the US. Of course you can used debit cards but they can come with hefty fees. You may also have to have a residency card in order to open a bank account in that country.

You will also need to work remotely as most countries don’t issue work visas to foreigners unless they are doing work that locals can’t do. These rules will vary by country.

If you are willing to be really adventurous and move somewhere don’t to anything until you do A LOT of research, talk to a lot of people and have more than basic language skills. You also need to factor in the cost of a language tutor for several years a couple of times a week. Language apps are great but the language varies from country to country and region to region. Many Latin American countries speak Spanish as well as several indigenous languages.

You will also have to take into consideration things that you will have to give up when you leave the US. Your favorite foods and household goods may not be available in the country you choose. Things like the electrical system may not always function, transportation probably won’t run on time.

I hope I don’t come across as rude but it’s much harder than people think to change countries. I emigrated to Mexico from the US 7 years ago and while I love and have no desire to return money was only one of my reasons to move. Politics was also not a part of my reason to leave but it is a reason I won’t be moving back.

I hope I didn’t come across as harsh. I’ve seen too many starry eyed gringos rush down here not knowing what they are getting into only to pack up and move back because they thought living abroad would be cheaper. They don’t take into account the other, non financial costs.

What kind of life do you want to have? Because things here are cheaper, but the wages are lower and life isn't getting any better. And Latam have a huge problem with public security.
Let's take the case of a friend I have... He lives in a major city in Brazil. He is a public employee of the city. He makes something around 201 dollars by month. Can't pay for all the costs he would have if he lived alone. He had to live with his mother. Another friend I have is a police detective in a big city in Brazil. He makes something around 1000 dollars. He lives alone. Can't pay for a lot of comfort.

This is a mensright subreddit. This user has literally said he wants to go to south america to meet hot latin prostitutes. Honestly, is this the type of user you all want in here? Sure, he is young. But thats a stupid vision and will Not help this moviment at all. Please dont come to south america. Plus, in a big city, searching for “latina prostitutes” (which is illegal in most countries), you will probally just get robbed or worst (not kidding).
