It simply becomes sexual harassment/misconduct when there is no consent given. Now, surprising your significant other with a light and playful smack on the rear or a gentle hand on the thigh during a romantic movie may technically be done without explicit permission, but these kinds of interactions are occurring with someone you know and will likely result in zero physical or psychological harm. If said interactions occur between complete strangers, then the situation is different, ENTIRELY.

In the eyes of many, a man who rejects a woman's sexual advances is either gay, impotent or a prude, while a woman who rejects a man's sexual advances is simply being a polite, reserved and dignified lady. If men can be convicted on a false accusation with no evidence, then women can certainly handle the penalty for customer indecency. Abusing double standards to attain shock-celebrity status on social media is only furthering the downfall of our society, virtually making the need for ethics and intellect obsolete.

Even women answering the door in underwear or bathing suits would be more tolerated than if it were men doing so. Of course, being gifted in the "conventional looks" department can make a big difference to some, but overall, this seems to be just another gender-based inequity that misandrists and feminists prefer to ignore.

Equality comes in 2 possible ways here.

Women are arrested if men press charges. (Very few men would press charges so this wouldn't change anything)

Or

Mennare allowed to expose themselves to delivery personel (this is gross and shouldn't happen)

So really... what can be done?

[–]Qantourisc 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The second () makes it sound as this is your personal opinion, and would only apply to men. Is this correct ?

[–]Clemicus 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No. Logically if one was already occurring then that would be in addition so it'd be both. Also you missed:

(this is gross and shouldn't happen)

The previous account has been suspended for whatever reasons

I didn't miss the gross part, that was my complaint.

Gaeassment implies a form of repetition. And as Ling as your able to pick up on social ques, your good. Most people back off once they sense they're advances are not recieved...however I've encounter multiple women who can't hold themselves to that standard.

I hope that trend dies out. I can't any way we men would get away with doing that same mess.

No question, gigantic double standard. I think it's a stupid prank and has real potential to cause somebody to experience psychological pain. It might be harmless fun to most, and some delivery guys might even find it funny or sexy, but I know from first hand experience that being unexpectedly presented with a naked woman, even an attractive one, especially with no context or explanation, is not necessarily enjoyable and can have serious negative impacts on state of mind.

Regardless of mental impact, if it's illegal when a man does it, it should be illegal when a woman does it, or else legal for both to do it.

But we don't think of women as capable of sexual assault and rape, so it "doesn't count". I think that's the key difference in peoples' minds here. Women "aren't a threat", their nakedness is "vulnerability". Men "are a threat", their nakedness is "sexual aggression", it shows "intent to penetrate".

The man is "always up for it", "always thinking about it", erections are considered consent or intent without any attempt at understanding male physiology which would explain that that's not true. Women "put up with" men wanting sex, begrudgingly or our of fear, so we're told, they "receive sex", it's something "a man does to them".

This scenario doesn't involve physical touching, however, so I firmly believe that even if a man were to open a door naked to a female delivery person, it would be exactly equal to this "prank". If he pulled her in the door and started assaulting her, yes, that would be different, but let's compare like for like here, not just invent scenarios which "prove" the man is a sex offender.

So, which is it? OK for both, or unacceptable for either? It can't be sick and perverted for one but not the other.
