...because he thinks women add nothing to a friendship, but they want a men's because they can still extract something of value from him. He might still take her out and pay for stuff, defend her, pick her up and take her places, giver her attention, but women usually provide none of these things to a man. Obviously, a big generalization, but what he means is that most friendships between men and women are probably like this. If she isn't giving him sex, she has no value for him.

Now, i'm not going to agree or disagree with him. It's not about that. But this did got me thinking about female friends and what have got out of those relationships.

I recently broke up with a chick that wanted to remain friends. "I will always be here for you", bla, bla, bla. Used to be madly in love with me, says i'm incredibly important. Ok, fine. If you're here for me, i might hit you up if i need something.

Needed something a few times. Little favours. Nothing crazy. I asked her to give me a temporary credit card for me to buy something in a store and then i would transfer it to her through paypal. She didn't say no, but started to present a ton of obstacles:

"Oh...i don't like to give my info to anyone"

- Info? Wtf? It's a temporary card. It disappears once you use it.

"Oh...but what if i pay fees?"

- Fees? You don't pay fees. And if you do i'll give you the money

"Oh...then send me the money first"

- Dude...i'm out

It's like 20 bucks. She is a scientist. She isn't starving. And this isn't the first time i've asked her for a favour and it's always a fucking headache. Always.

Sent a text to a male friend and told him to give me a temporary card. He didn't ask anything, didn't say anything, simply sent the card number. Never asked for a money. Paid him back 2 months after that when we got together.

I'm not saying that this proves Tate is right, but at least in my life there is a pattern of women talking a lot and then trying to get out of actually helping, while with men this type of thing usually run a lot smoother.
