OP, please state how this fits the flair

[–]buried_alive0 65 points66 points67 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

If he's scared of this, what chance do I have?

[–]Ris-O 51 points52 points53 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

He's more at risk due to money, status, and fame

[–]wayder 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hell, yeah. Imagine having that kind-of weight on your shoulders in the current media environment. Anyone who can portray themselves as a victim of anything is an auto-hero. The lines to recite are rote by now, just recite the script and end Cavill's career, or get a payoff to go away.

[–]buried_alive0 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, but he can also get better and more lawyers, so the fake accusations can backfire on the women.

[–]Ris-O 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If by backfire you mean a slap on the wrist at most

[–]buried_alive0 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, but for the guy this better than getting his life destroyed over nothing, like most of the time.

[–]TheMorningJoe 63 points64 points65 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Smart man

[–]GerinX 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. Very smart man. With the movements and “believe women” how could he have any other mindset about this

[–]SkinnyNecro 41 points42 points43 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

He seems a smart man

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To say so publicly in today's times, despite depending on his public image, was certainly not smart.

[–]SkinnyNecro 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Brave and honest doesn't mean stupid

[–]Tr3nchWar 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Smart. Just look at Keanu Reeves doing the "hover hands" in every picture with women. Very smart too.

[–]Drakethepirate 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

MeToo and Feminism side effect, now every men will be afraid of dating and this is going to make life miserable for everyone...Progress is not always a good thing.

[–]threeorangewhips3 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

..and don't forget that everything men do is "creepy" or "creeps them out" male looks at woman..ooohh creepy..male ask a woman for a date.."ssoooo creepy" male sends a text stating he would like to meet for coffee..oh ffs how creepy is that? That's right, it isn't. "standing on the corner watching all the girls go by"I'm a girl watcher" and "music to watch girls go by" are considered not just old songs, but also creepy. Andy Williams is creepy? A wonderful Christmas song from ww2 is deemed "rape" from one simple line. Yall need to get over yourselves.

[–]Drakethepirate 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's part of the misandrist plan for feminism in order to destroy society and salvage a reason to exist. They don't even know what "creepy" means, there is not a clear definition on the dictionary, it's just a tool used to emasculate men because modern feminism hates men.

[–]xarexen 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There were no laws, only crimes

[–]aerial_coitus 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what feminism and most women everywhere wanted.

[–]Theapexfighter 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even the Hollywood key boy can’t have a break Eh?

[–]mike_smith02 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Henry Cavill has been my favorite actor for a while now. Glad to see he's thinking logically.

[–]theexwhogothot 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can't blame him...

[–]BLACKWINGSgocaw 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good job for him. Just because he's a good looking guy who's worshiped by plenty of women, doesn't mean he's immune to toxic feminists.

[–]Silencio00 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That guy is scared. Imagine us ugly guys.

[–]DesertVeteran_PA-C 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s a valid concern. The “Pence Rule” is not only reasonable, it’s recommended.

[–]Frird2008 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Waiting for comments.

[–]stacyxxluv -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Just act like a normal person and you won’t have this problem.

[–]DeglovedLover 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What an ignorant thing to say.

[–]stacyxxluv -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How many men have been called a rapist for flirting with someone? The numbers are so so small that it’s more a phobia then an actual fear. At least, I haven’t heard about it. Fake accusations exist, that means she would be lying. She would be making up that you raped her, she would not say: you flirted with me and that’s rape. I never heard anyone say that.

You can be called creepy or annoying for sure. But rape has nothing to do with flirting.

[–]DeglovedLover 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How many? All of us, apparently. They call it The Male Gaze. Just by looking at a woman and judging her attractive, a man perpetuates rape culture, does he not?

[–]stacyxxluv -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No he does not. Stop living in a fairytale land. Just because an extremely small group of feminists say that that is rape doesn’t mean society lives by that. Almost no one thinks that that is rape.

Male gaze is the way that men view women and the things they find sexy. How they like to see women. It doesn’t mean that every time a man stares it’s rape, don’t be dumb.

[–]budnugglet -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good news for him, he 100% doesn't have to

[+]missingpupper -13 points-12 points-11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He doesn't know what a rapist is, if the is saying something like that.

[–]fugelwoman -39 points-38 points-37 points 3 years ago (56 children) | Copy Link

Clearly he doesn’t understand the difference between flirting and rape.

[–][deleted][S] 30 points31 points32 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Who does at this point? Feminists have abused the word ‘rape’ so much that it’s completely lost all meaning. I mean, what even is rape anymore?

[–]RoundSilverButtons 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I remember a stat trotted out a decade ago or more. Something that said an alarming amount of women having been sexually assaulted. I looked it up and being cat called counted as sexual assault. Fuck that

[–]Haledweller 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The way I've been told, existence is rape

[+]fugelwoman -19 points-18 points-17 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah sure because every man everywhere is being accused of rape all the time . /s

[–]xarexen 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Every man ever has been accused of rape flippantly by women online. In fact the bimbo who started this thread said:

>Clearly he doesn’t understand the difference between flirting and rape.

[+]fugelwoman -18 points-17 points-16 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Nope. Try again, bro.

[–][deleted][S] 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Stop trying to distort facts that don’t appeal to you. Feminists have abused the word ‘rape’ time and again, it’s gotten to the point where it doesn’t even have any real meaning.

According to some feminists…

It’s rape if you have consensual sex and regret it the next day.

It’s rape if your boyfriend breaks up with you because you cheated on him.

It’s rape if you overhear somebody calling somebody else a slut.

It’s rape if someone farts within your vicinity.

Stop trying to shut down things that obviously don’t confirm your bias.

[–]fugelwoman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also random personal blogs do not speak for “feminists” as a collective. I would not take a blog from this guy and use it to make my point

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10489302/filmmaker-rape-legalised-india-cooperate/amp/

[–]fugelwoman -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s very sad that your back up is a bunch of random personal blogs.

[–]sas0002 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because what some feminists believe is the law.

/s

[–]Darth_Jeebus1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Neither do women these days.

[–]antifeminists-ModTeam[M] 10 points11 points12 points 3 years agolocked comment (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism isn't synonymous with women. Criticize the ideology. Don't hate a gender.

[–]d_nijmegen 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

When they had a few drinks that night. Any claim is going to be against the man... Franky any claim will cost a man like this enormous amounts.

Women fear being defenseless maybe even more than men. And against allegations you are powerless. It's hard to prove something didn't happen. So men fear being powerless to defend their honor if they didn't do anything wrong.

So men with something to lose are cautious, because with no fault of your own, it can happen.

[+]missingpupper -7 points-6 points-5 points 3 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

Don't sleep with drunk people then. There is a reason people try to get a women drunk, they put their guard down.

[–]d_nijmegen 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

Is that why women go drinking with women? To get their guard down? Is everything so sinister with you?

[–]fugelwoman -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago* (24 children) | Copy Link

How often are women raping other women? Listen to yourself, pump the brakes and think a bit on all this. Women don’t think like this out of nowhere. Millions of men get women drunk to lower their inhibitions. Don’t even get me started on roofies. [cue the incel “men get drugged too!]. Yes they do, but mostly that’s to be robbed. Not raped. And Don’t you dare claim those crimes are similar.

Don’t want to be accused of rape? Seek active consent. Don’t have sex with drunk people. Be an ally, it will greatly reduce your chances of being accused of anything untoward.

EDIT - I’d love to know why “seeking active consent” is considered “the dark side”

[–]BLACKWINGSgocaw 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So basically join the dark side or feminists will ruin your life. Wow, toxic movement is very toxic.

[–]d_nijmegen 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

This is all very nice. But doesn't help false accusations. A rich dude like this has a real target on his back for weirdo's.

I'm managing perfectly fine, try to stay on task please. Superdude is the subject here.

[–]fugelwoman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

How much false accusations do you think happen in comparison to actual rape?

[–]d_nijmegen 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

On average? Or on high profile people?

[–]fugelwoman 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

All of society

[–]d_nijmegen 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

It's probably pretty low, it's a pretty unhinged thing to do. As is rape. Only a tiny percentage of people is capable of that. But it is more common amongst young and unstable people to not oversee the consequences of such a thing.

Anyway how unlikely does a thing have to be before you can't fear it anymore? I don't think it's rare enough to be negligible. Play it safe is always the first step.

Rich people though. Much more inflated numbers.

[–]missingpupper -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Alcohol lowers inhibition and awareness. If you are around a rapist then makes it all the more easy for them. People can have fun with alcohol in a safe environment but in the wrong environment can lead to rape.

[–]d_nijmegen 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes.

Now superman went on a date and she had a few. They had sex. What is your verdict?

[+]missingpupper -9 points-8 points-7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Super man wouldn't rape anyone but someone like you might.

[–]d_nijmegen 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok im leaving the crazy train, have a wonderful life!

[–]xarexen 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's not the kind of thing you just say without damned good evidence.

[–]fugelwoman 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The “damn good evidence” is that he is quoted saying he’s afraid to flirt bc he might be accused of rape. Show me where a male celebrity merely flirted and was then accused of raped

[–]kiaeej 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

When the lines are clear but so easily fudged and misunderstood, the payoff isnt worth the risk. He could lose everything, EVERYTHING, simply cos the stain of accusation, whether true or not is enough to damm a man.

[–]fugelwoman -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

He “could” but he likely won’t. Name any male celebrity FALSELY accused who lost his career

[–]blurbaronusa 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It doesn’t matter if he loses his career or not, it could be tarnished, perhaps irreparably. Cancelled or not people are losing money because of LIES. Examples of false allegations include: Neymar, Marilyn Manson, Johnny Depp. All three figures have lost revenue and venues because of shoddy cases

[–]fugelwoman -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Marilyn Manson actually did a lot of bad shit - it wasn’t proven than rape allegations were false. He’s also abused other people and threatened reporters. Not an example I would have given

https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/timeline-abuse-allegations-marilyn-manson-9523386/amp/

Neymar is still playing and that accuser was arrested.

[–]fugelwoman -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How many women have had careers stalled after being raped or sexually harassed?

Christine Ford continues to get death threats after she came forward against Brett Kanavaugh. He got the job. She’s had to move house due to the threats.

Over 80 women came forth about Weinstein. Countless women say their careers ended bc of coming forward.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/harvey-weinstein-trial-halted-actress-21424859.amp

Re Weinstein - this happened over THREE decades

According to the women's reports, Weinstein invited young actresses or models into a hotel room or office on the pretext of discussing their career, and then he demanded massages or sex.[34] He told them that complying with his demands would help their careers and repeatedly used Gwyneth Paltrow as an example, telling them that she had had sex with him, unbeknownst to the actress. Paltrow had rebuffed his propositions, but he told multiple young actresses that she had slept with him as a "weapon" to pressure them into complying with his demands.[14]

Kater Gordon was a tv writer - in fall 2009, she shared an Emmy as a writer on the second season of Mad Men. She hasn’t worked in television since. The reason, she recently told the Information, is that the show’s creator, Matthew Weiner, sexually harassed her. The incident robbed her of all her confidence and placed her in a “lose-lose situation”: She felt it could end her career if she challenged him, but she didn’t feel like she could continue to work with him if she didn’t.

[–]blurbaronusa 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I understand you said celebrity but I urge you to look into how many college men have lost scholarships over allegations before cases were carried out proving their innocence. And a majority of them black men.

[–]fugelwoman -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok I’m still asking about the celebrities though as this one is being defended

[–]fugelwoman -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Please do give me a number of men who have lost scholarships for false rape charges. Then compare that to the number of women (and men too! If you want to be fair) who have actually been raped.
