IIRC, plumbers tend to be the highest paid trade. You might also want to consider pursing all avenues, e.g. I know a guy who buys and flips houses. He has a degree in business also.

As someone studying engineering I'd say make the switch because there are more potential uses for that degree. You can do engineering related work or skilled trade based on you engineering degree but there are more opportunities for employment that pay well.

Positively 70-80% of sexually successful guys I know work trades mainly construction and plumbing. It makes you a man because it's hard as fuck. I used to do seal coating asphalt work hardest fucking job I ever had. But now at my job I have now I think to myself I could do that I can do anything and that mentality affects my dating life and personal conduct. The myth that there's accountants slaying is just a myth. Most of the white collar dudes I know don't have dicks and are fat fucks. Most dudes that work pussy jobs are pussies.

Whatever you decide, make sure it can be an outlet for your ambition. The last thing you should do is pursue a career in a field because you held an idealized version of it in your mind. You gotta know yourself first.

I work in an elite Wall Street firm and we hire a lot of people with both types of degrees. A math degree is hypothetically less practical than an engineering degree, but there is always the saying, "there aren't many people with math degrees on the streets". Both disciplines emphasize rigorous quantitative reasoning and that is the main skill you will get out of either major. The truth is, you don't specialize that much in undergrad anyways. I think whatever your school is better known for and will get you a better GPA is the better bet.

I'm not so sure about this 'making you a man' stuff. The main factors in a job are whether you enjoy doing it, how much money you make, and how much it interferes with other things you want to do.

It depends a lot on what type of women you want and what you want them for and how you are trying to market yourself.

For example, some skilled tradesmen can make as much as some of the lower paid physicians in the U.S., however there are a whole group of women who will want the physician because of the status of his job and they will never want you--for that.

So, if you want to fit in as the posh Chad of the uppercrusts and have successful LTRs with the Cindys of the uppercrusts, then it might affect you. If however, what you want is to be viscerally attractive to women on a more primal level, then you're an educated man who works with his hands likely will have a laborer's physique and a Dr.'s checkbook--so you'll have that going for you. Can you marry (if that's your thing) yes, but not likely to Candy from the Cape.

Truthfully, it doesn't matter. If you are concerned about how something that you do might affect your SMV, let me tell you that it won't, because out of a trade you can be better off than a lot of other people in the job market (sans STEM people), and most importantly, it's your journey and a woman should never influence you nor judge you for the choices you've made.
