My ex just recently moved to town after being absent for two years in another state. She took a job working 3x12 hour shifts on the weekends (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday). I didn’t update the parenting plan while she was absent trying to not rock the boat. (I’m an idiot, it’s in very slow process) In our current tentative agreement I have asked for right of first refusal and she agreed. I have them weekends and every other Monday to suit her 50/50 request and first right of refusal.
She wants to adjust this agreement for holiday/summer breaks when the kids are out of school. I asked what weeks she wanted and if she was taking time off to watch them on the weekends she requested them. She blew up at this.
Clearly her being gone for 12 hours for a shift means she should ask me if I want to watch the children. Now the question I guess. Does the time she sleeps and has the sitter watching in the house them also count as time she should be asking me if I want to watch the children?
