I’m 29 years old. I have no parents and almost no family at all. Feminists gave my mom a free pass to abuse me and my sister, and she destroyed my family and drove my sister to suicide. The damage she caused hurts me every day, and I can’t stand not to talk about it anymore.
Part 1: Childhood and adolescence
I was born in 1993 and had a half sister born in 1996. We shared the same mother, but had different fathers. All of our parents were verbally and physically abusive and had anger issues. My father was one of the most unqualified people to ever be a father. He was stupid, he was stupid, lazy, and violent. I witnessed several assaults growing up. Our mom was violent around my sister, including an incident where she threw a glass and shattered it all over our floor. Our mother regularly insulted and antagonized me and my sister. She said things like “God damn you” and belittled us for not knowing things she had never taught us. Neither of my parents fed me enough, and I spent most of my adolescence 30 pounds underweight and ravenously hungry. I sometimes had to beg the lunch ladies at school for free food. A kid at school once broke my arm during sports practice, and when I told my mom I was in pain she told me “you’ll be fine.” That’s when I started to realize how little value I had to her.I had to nag her for several days before she finally brought me to the hospital and I got a cast on my arm. These were some of the most notable abuses throughout my childhood and adolescence.
Part 2: Young adulthood
In 2012 our mom remarried, and she mellowed out and became less angry for awhile due to the support she started receiving from her husband. I was in college at that time. That same year, my father disowned me over a phone argument about my work commute. He had advised me to drive my moped far below the speed limit, thinking it would be safer, and I disagreed with him, saying it would actually be more dangerous because cars might not see me in time to slow down. My father got angry, as he usually did when anyone disagreed with him, only this time he told me “Goodbye, have a nice life” and I never saw him again. But I took that as a relief. I never wanted to see him again.
In 2016 I attended a Donald Trump rally, and my mom told me I was lucky not to be disowned for doing so. That hurt me also.
In 2017 my sister who had been living by herself attempted suicide by taking pills, but she was resucitated. Directly before taking the pills, she had invited our mom to come and visit her. I think my sister wanted our mom to find her dead body. I remember feeling stunned and unsurprised.
After my sister’s attempted suicide, she moved back in with our mom and stepdad. I graduated college and moved in with my grandma for three months. During this time she regularly watch MSNBC and said despicable things about Republicans. She complained about them not valuing the lives of others, and she downplayed the attack against Steve Scalise. She also insulted my work ethic, even though I had recently graduated college and was working part time while applying for hundreds of jobs. If I ever took a day off of work she became furious at me. Thankfully, I eventually found a full time job elsewhere and immediately moved out. Around that time, my mom emailed me a rant complaining about my political views (which are moderate- I simply voted for a candidate she didn’t like) and enforcing her own. Most of my lifelong Democrat friends had turned against me after 2016. They asked me to unfriend them, they drew insulting things in my online photos, deleted my comments when I protested, and vilified me. When I told my mom about this she sided with them, telling me I was the one who should reconsider my choices. She also told me I had “the most privilege our society can possibly bestow,” even after all the trauma I had endured as a result of her decisions. My mom, grandma, and stepdad, who were all Democrats, automatically defended each other. He insisted that our mom had “tried her best” to raise us, when he actually had almost no knowledge of our family’s past. He said my differing political opinions were “bound to be a shock to her system,” even though I had no problem at all with other people holding different opinions. And my mom defended my grandma’s comments, claiming she was free to say whatever insult she wanted since she was in her own home. I later got a job and moved out, and when my mom asked when she could come visit me at my new apartment, and I told her she wasn’t invited. So she told me I’m no longer welcome at her house and she told me to find a new mom.
A few months later, in 2018, my sister died from the damage caused by her earlier suicide attempt. She died completely alone at age 22. My mom and stepdad suddenly decided they wanted me to be a part of their family again, but I refused to see them. I went to work and didn’t tell anybody about my sister’s death. I couldn’t even attend my sister’s funeral because I couldn’t emotionally stand to see everybody supporting our abusive mom, but then feminists found me online and antagonized me for not supporting her. Since then, my mom and stepdad sent me various messages shaming me for refusing to talk to them. My mom has sent messages saying she forgives me and telling me to “man up” and be part of her life again. My stepdad continues to frame our mom as the victim of the situation, saying she’s the one who deserves support. After about 7 years of having no contact with my biological father, I sent him an email protesting the way he treated me, and in response he said he would sew my face to my ass if he ever saw me again. I told some of my uncles about this incident and they all ignored me. I tried talking with my cousin about the abuse my sister received, and he told me to get over it and stop victimizing myself.
Now I’m 29 years old with no parents. The only parents I ever had treated me like garbage. There is a gaping hole in my life, and it makes me miserabIe. I never got to receive the love and support that most other people received from at least one of their parents, and I watch other people receive support for far smaller problems, often in huge amounts. A girl in my neighborhood once got called a racial slur by someone on the street, and she received an outpouring of support from the community. But if my own father threatened to attack me, no one cares. All I have left are my aunt, uncle, and one cousin. My immediate family was destroyed. I feel abandoned, because I am.
I work hard and contribute to my community. I’m smart, funny, and kind. I deserve for my issues to receive more attention than others’ inconveniences.
