Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is launching an anti-sexism strategy (PDF here).

It includes this little tidbit about IPV:

A large proportion of male victim-survivors have been in same sex relationships so that the perpetrator is male (adding to the gendered nature of VAWG).

In reality, upwards of 90% of male victims report female perpetrators. That's according to the Crime Survey of England and Wales and the Scottish equivalent, so government statistics. Charities for male victims get similar figures, so you can't even say that high-level abuse is mostly in gay relationships - these are men distressed enough to reach out to services, not just tick boxes on crime surveys, and they still overwhelmingly report that their abusers are women.

Meanwhile, guess who Khan's document cites? Nobody. It's a completely unsourced factoid.

Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Perhaps contacting UK charity ManKind and seeing if they can make enough noise to get this fixed?

For 2017/18, nearly all men (98%) who were victims of partner abuse (and referred to a single gender as the perpetrator) said they were a victim from a female. Whilst the ONS cautions against a full interpretation, it does show the overwhelming perpetrators of partner abuse against men are women.
