This ruling is a slap in the face to the victim. The imposed one pound the thief must repay basically acknowledges the money was stolen while at the same time saying the thief doesn’t have to pay the stolen money back.

It’s basically saying to the victim: “The court acknowledges she stole your money. The court acknowledges the huge financial hardship this theft is causing you, but we’ve decided she doesn’t have to pay any of it back.”

If I had the time I could probably collate a list of articles exactly like this one from here in New Zealand where women in positions of financial trust / authority in schools, charities and businesses abuse that power and steal money.

And the thing that shocks me is that were we to treat ALL women as though they are simply money thieves in waiting you can BET there would be articles about how it's "Not ok to paint all women with the same brush" or how just because SOME women have stolen money in these positions, that doesn't mean that all women do it..

Yet, it's acceptable to treat all men as though they are rapists or to paint all men with the same brush..

Also, not the focus here but, were you to swap the genders I highly doubt a man would have gotten off this easily

Heh... well apparently she used the 90k of the money money to pay off gambling debts and kept another 20k just to live on, presumably spending it and not really using it to purchase any assets which could be given to the person she stole from. She'll be sentenced to 28 months in prison. How much she will actually serve, with 5 kids on the outside, is anybody's guess.

Any bets on whether or not it will be a "house arrest" situation once the appeal comes in about her 5 kids?

Well, it sounds like April Fool's Day and a parody of Monty python and yet it is indeed a parade of the court and I will not say when she stole this money for children I would consider it a desperate theft mother who wanted to give her children a better life and she drove everything for gambling what kind of court is this not only let me go unpunished but after such an incident a lamp should light up to check in what conditions live these children I have no doubt that gambling is more important than children. It's a pity for the old lady that she wanted to help her with her 5 children in mind, not knowing that thanks don't count, only hazdar to that extent that destroy her life's achievements, lead to bankruptcy and leave her with nothing. Well, as the saying goes, how to steal is millions because only then will you get away with it
