Location: Canada - Ontario

Context : I have been living outside the matrimonial home since July. We are going through the financial disclosure process ( just completed) and will be entering into the support (spousal and child) and division of assets negotiations shortly.

Situation: my wife and children are going away over the holidays (out of country). I have items within the house I wish to retrieve. I was thinking I could use this period of time to access the home and retrieve items.

She has sent me an email stating that under no circumstances am I allowed to enter the house.

[Question] Does the law side with her restricting my access? Or does the law side with me and allow me access to the matrimonial home.

Again, no legal separation agreement has been signed.

Additional note: For those thinking about cross border travel and children. The youngest is 17 and I do not have an issue with travel. No documentation has been requested, but if it is, then I have no issue giving permission.

Appreciate anyone's experience in similar situations.

Again - Canada , Ontario based as laws are diff between USA, Canada and Canadian provinces.
