At my local sportsplex they changed the male change room to a "family" change room. The male change room is now a little cubby hole in the middle of a long corridor. Don't you just love male privilege?

My local gym place sectioned off 1/3 of the exercise floorspace and called it "lady fitness safe space".

Now you have 2/3rds of the gymn for everyone and 1/3rd of the gymn just for women so they don't feel threatened. Price for both genders remains the same.

I quit the following day due to the blantant sexism.

We're reading too much into it.

Modifying a door like that with that specific lock is probably $1000+, not to mention fire codes.

The city\state requires a specific number of unencumbered exits. If they put the pin lock on the men's, it likely doesn't have an exit bar on the inside, so now it doesn't count as an emergency exit.

To revamp BOTH doors is very expensive... so... they just left it... not because sexism... but money.

TLDR: What probably happened, is a result of poor planning, possible fire code violations, and expense

The fact your gym has a father's locker room is a positive in itself. amany don't. The next thing is we need to know the motive for the code lock? Is it to stop male pedos from mimicking fathers and going in to get access to kids? If yes it's prejudiced toward males. the next thing is, is it to stop non fathers taking a shortcut to the gym through there? That sounds a biased but it's not anti-male.
