I’m still very much in shock and traumatized by what happened…

So long story short I stopped speaking to my sister because I was deeply resentful towards her for actions she took that very negatively and abusively affected the lives of me and my parents. This back story part I can elaborate on if anyone is interested.

Her personality is basically: Wants to control the lives of everyone around her thinking she knows best without listening to any other perspective, and takes initiatives without consulting that drastically alter the lives of those she’s controlling, and under the guise of helping the person, only benefits her own self. She’s atheist, believes in only science, and is an ardent feminist. Also very elitist, classist, snobby, and vocally judgmental. It honestly scares me that she’s a doctor in psychology, I worry for her patients.

So just a couple nights ago when I was with my parents and 2 (of 3) sisters, the dangerous sister was in the room while the other sister was asking me why I wasn’t speaking to her. So I told her honestly why as it pertained to how she had very negatively affected my life. I wanted her to hear her truths. I then had walked out of the room when all of a sudden the dangerous sister yelled “Inept, stupid fucking narcissist!” (I’m far from being a narcissist btw as I actually tend to be too empathetic for my own good. I’m definitely not inept or stupid either.)

I re-entered the room saying “Excuse me?” She looked me in the eye with crazy-eyes yelling “You’re nothing but an inept, selfish, idiot piece of shit!” So I splashed my cup of (temperate, not cold or hot water onto her face. (I know, I know, not the best idea.) She then lunged at me with both hands strangling my throat very tightly so I couldn’t breathe. I tried (very lightly) to get her off me, when my other sister came to put an arm on each of us. Murderous psychotic sister then started violently kicking my knees (I was in a weakened state from the strangling) trying to make me fall down the basement stairs directly behind me. She then maniacally grinned and said “Touch me again!” Then she slammed my head against a glass picture frame next to the basement door causing the picture to fall and leaving my head in much pain. Blood pouring out of my mouth she grinned “Your mouth is bleeding!” and maniacally laughed. I then yelled at her hurling insults towards her and slammed the door to the basement to get away from her.

I then called my dad and he’s accusing me of having attacked her. Instantly the 2 sisters had left to call the police because she lied saying I attacked her and that she was defending herself. So I fled the state.

Now my mom 100% believes me whereas my other sister does not — in spite of literally not seeing me attack or try to harm her because I didn’t— and my dad does not believe me either. Sister #2 also alerted her husband so now I’m also forbidden from ever seeing my 3 nephews who I was very close with. And the 3 nephews are crestfallen because of this and that I allegedly “attacked” her. My dad tonight on the phone refused to believe me and said “No, she was just defending herself,” and then hung up on me.

On the flip-side, it reinforces to me how awesome my mom is. Rational, intelligent, noble. I’m staying positive now and living in a place I very much wanted to move back to anyways, and lots of friends here, so there’s a lot to be happy about, but it’s still hard to process the horror that I went through 2 nights ago, and the instant default assumption the majority have that the man must have been the aggressor.

One of my best friends (37M) isn’t 100% sure whether or not to believe me that I didn’t attack her, but thankfully that has no bearing on our friendship.
