The court will be involved either way. I think what you're asking is how to do it without lawyers involved.

If you two can agree on custody then child support (mom support) is a simple calculation based on incomes and who has whatever amount of overnights with the children.

I did this without court or Lawyer getting involved my ex, and I we just verbally agreed and she got the primary care but I get to visit the kids. I do pay half of the day care though which is kind of like child support, but much much less than what I supposed to pay. It’s really up to how you negotiate or talk with your ex.

Judges can do anything. Best to get a lawyer together and agree upon everything on how it can be done. Family courts have rules and guidelines they like to stay in between.

In our case one parent did not participate in court and took is 15 months to get custody.
