The only thing I agree it's that he went to the wrong sub. As a matter of fact if someone has any problem, any other sub will be better.

We are the scum of the earth regardless of gender so there's that. Every autistic is different, same as any neurotypical person, however I feel we rely too much on feedback, clear, verbal, explicit and direct feedback to function properly.

Human communication is 70% nonverbal, there are unspoken rules and social conventions that people just expect you to know right off the bat that we are oblivious too.

I don't blame women, it can be annoying and off putting to deal with a socially clueless person, I just want people in general to be less cruel when spotting our deficiencies, we can learn and adapt if we are shown how.

Autistic male with 2 cents - OP here frames the post inauthentically. Granted, lots of comments on the linked thread are hostile and unhelpful, but /u/glass-dimension is right; he went to the wrong place for that issue. He should have gone to any one of the several autism forums for that rather than to a feminism one. It’s a base misconception of association that he’ll have to work out. There are literally thousands of advocates for those with ASD, and despite feminisms claim of aligning with the marginalized, a cursory exploration of its history shows it to have struggled with internal racism, bigotry and indifference to disability.

OP here is trying to paint victimization where none occurred, in my opinion, which is something BOTH major gender centric subs are regularly guilty of

I think he went to the wrong places to get help. As someone commented, he should have perhaps asked disability support groups and the like. I think his tone too was a bit off putting. It was very “I’m having this issue, now you tell me how to fix it.” This could have been because of his autism, he’s not aware of the tone. Tbh…I’m not sure why he even went to those spaces…and again, I think how it could come off eluded him and for good reason. Go to any autism based sub and you’ll see the people there talk about how neurotypicals tend to be short/aggressive/annoyed with them. I work with autistic students and it can be trying at times. I will say their comments are a mix of “dude how is this related to feminism,” impatience and a lack of a gentler approach when dealing with someone who is neurodivergent.

They are correct though, it's's not women's or feminists responsibility to be welcoming. Society should be a little more accepting but individuals will always be rude or just not willing to take that extra step.
