And that's why I believe it should be mandatory.

It'll eliminate the emotional blackmail, imagine if the guy said something like "don't question me or I'll leave" I'm sure most women would deem that abusive.

Women are incapable of understanding paternity fraud. That's why men shouldn't bother asking, just get it done privately without telling.

No sensible person buys a car or house just by a photo of it without verifying, likewise banks won't lend money if the credit score is low. In all these cases there are legal remedies to those who are scammed.

Paternity fraud is the only type of fraud where there is no punishment for fraudster and men are actively persuaded against protecting themselves from getting defrauded in the first place.

I'm very curious regarding why/how the woman with one of the most sensible take ("Did we fight/have a difficult time recently and I just happened to get pregnant at roughly that time? Fair enough. Else, I'd be mildly upset.") got the most deleted replies to her comment out of them all.

Edit: other sensible takes such as "my guy asked me because of shit he's been through in past relationships so I get it" are found without a shower of deleted replies, so I marked that as "one of the most sensible takes" because there's a few other sensible takes.

My wife accuses me of cheating whenever I’m late and has gone through my phone several times when I’m asleep. Only found a couple things that started an argument. She doesn’t trust me but the relationship is fine otherwise.

From my (very much MALE) perspective, if I were to ask for a paternity test, it would be to ENSURE that the child was mine and that I could go forward with putting my heart, my soul and my finances in support of the child.

If the woman I was with, couldn't understand that I was asking for that for MY assurances, and not because I doubted her-- that is, if she only looked at it as a condemnation of HER *(making the situation about HER)*, and not about a need for ME to have some sort of reassurance *(that is, she couldn't put herself in my shoes about the matter for even a few minutes)*, then I would welcome her breaking up with me. And then I'd get the damned paternity test anyway.

It is unfortunate that, in the way that the Family Court system has fucked over men when it comes to custody and/or child support, that the first thing a woman thinks if/when a man asks for a paternity test is "Oh, you don't trust me??" She doesn't have any demonstrated empathy for the plight of men who get bent over and screwed (with no lube) by the Family Court system. There is ample evidence that such occurs, but instead of her saying something like:

*"Baby, I'm upset that you think that our baby might not be yours, but let's get the test done and then you can have proof that this is your baby and no one is trying to hoodwink you"*

they almost all have the audacity to make the situation about how offended they are, and how they need to break up with the man. For me, that would only make me MORE suspicious, if I wasn't already feeling that way; why break up with me, if you aren't doing anything wrong? Yeah, I can see the "I'm mad at you because" of the thought of a lack of trust- but to then throw in that the relationship is over, would only make me more incentivized to get the child tested, so that I could know if I was going to be shafted by the Family Court after said break up.

As a woman, I'd say go for it. My husband mentioned wanting to do one with our first baby. It was something his dad had advised him when he was little. I wasn't at all offended. He ended up not even looking into it. He didn't even mention it by the third.

Women in those forums are just trying to make people miserable by advocating for divorce, splitting up homes. I was downvoted for telling a woman/mother of a toddler that jumping to divorce because she thought her husband wasn't caring enough when she had a stomach bug was extreme.
