White guy in Toronto here, which has a rather sizable "minority" of brown folks (actually I'm not really sure they even ARE in the minority anymore, population-wise) - can definitely confirm I've experienced a lot of racism displayed particularly around dating and particularly from women and going both ways -white women I've talked to generalize brown guys as mysoginistic and sex-crazed while brown women I've talked to have said stuff like "oh, I could never bring a white guy home to my parents". Still haven't noticed many men expressing the same biases and limitations across racial lines (at least not in the negative); in fact I'd say we're more often accused of fetishizing women of other races (regardless of your own race) when we do express attraction.

I am British Indian. This makes sense why I mention later. Saw a post on here about how woke idiots perpetuate ideas about white men. Basically in short white men bad. I totally get how this is alienating-I am a man after all.

But then I saw a claim that there are a lack of spaces for white men that accept them but my issue with that is-really I just think there is a lack of spaces for men generally.

With all of this i can wholeheartedly agree, yes there is a sentiment against white men going on. You're also completely correct in saying that there isn't a lack of spaces for white men but rather for men in general. But after this you go, completely, off the deep end.

Also not really true. I'm in the UK and there are defacto white men only spaces which I cannot enter-certain men's football teams from certain areas (racist areas basically). That kind of thing.

These aren't 'white only' spaces any more as the football clubs that white people can't join because of their lack of colour. There are just as many of either, that doesn't mean that there are places where 'whites' can't come or places where 'coloured' people aren't welcome. It just means that there are still racist pricks who can't look beyond the colour of someone's skin.

Skin colour and everything that gets associated with it is bullshit and has absolutely nothing to do with the colour of their, or anyone else their skin. The only thing a skin colour determines is how long you're able to sit in the sun without burning or how much vitamine D you produce with little sunlight, that is it. All other notions about skin colour are nothing but racist generalizations. Regardless of intent, the power of the person who says it or anything else you can think of, it remains nothing but a racist generalization.

Racist viewpoints of one party aren't privileges for a third party. Lets say, for the sake of argument, that i believe the stereotype that all black people are amazing bass players. I might be absolutely convinced of this with everyone in my country also believing this, that doesn't make any black person a good bass player. It doesn't help black people trying to learn to play the bass or enable black people to make music. The only thing that may happen is that a black person might get a scholarship for a bass education more easily because of the racist idea's of all these other people, but that isn't a privilege.

Yes, there are some things that are more easy for white people in white countries. This is because they blend perfectly into the majority of the people in that country. I'd reckon that if the two of us where in India and have to survive there, you'd have a far easier time to blend in solely because of how we look. That doesn't mean that you're 'privileged' there, it just means that i would blend in there very poorly and stick out. This makes me an easy target, not because of my skin colour, but simply because i stand out in the crowed.

It is very easy to slip into racist beliefs, our brains like to make generalizations of things in order to label them and make sense of this world.

The 'defacto white places' you mentioned are still often exclusive to certain cultures, religions, class and family ties.

There's a big difference between access and acceptance.

Traditional institutions destroy white men's lives too.

Not invalidating your personal experience.

Just offering a smidge from mine.

And like others have stated here, there are still exclusive cultural ethnicities within the 'white people' group.

I think you are confusing things. There may be sound racist groups that won't make you feel welcomed but those are social unacceptable. It is not official place and everyone would be offended by it. This isn't the same as BAME only clubs that can be run in any school or women only clubs that can be run in school. If I went to school today and tried to run white boys only group I would be reported to PREVENT by schools headteacher by the time I reach a school gate while escorted out of school .

Racists exist but we are talking about socially accepted groups that can freely exclude men especially white men.

This doest take away from men of other backgrounds. Every group of men faces their own challenges non are worth less we are in it together.
