I've been trying for over a year now to get my ex the money I owe her. I couldn't do it without either her signatures or getting the clerk of the courts to sign for her.

I tried. I tried and tried and tried to get her to work with me on getting the asset transfers done. QDROs aren't always easy and have to go to the courts first and then they go to the financial institution. Both parties have to sign them (or the court if the other party won't). I almost went that way with the courts but if I had, I wouldn't even be where I'm at now (waiting for the financial institution to process it - or reject it - we still don't know).

So now though, the other side is asking for INTEREST because I haven't paid. I have plenty of evidence to share of my ex-wife literally telling me to fuck off when I ask her to work on this with me. We've had a lot of drama with one of our children over the last year and it has been her excuse for not focusing at all but in the end now - she wants interest (a year's worth of interest in fact).

She does this sort of thing with me all the time though, she either doesn't answer me on stuff we have to do together (or at least, we have to without using the court to intervene) and it almost always costs me more money because of it. Now she wants me to pay for her delays.

I have rejected their request which caused them to dial it down to 1/3 of their original ask but as I was going through my old emails and OFW messages on the topics I found the messages which to me are kind of the 'silver bullet' to their argument - she agrees to some conditions early in the process and then in about august of last year she just tells me to f(uck) off and leave her alone - she's too busy to focus on it in that moment. So I started working on it on my own and started talking to my attorney about going to the courts, right before I did that though I ended up getting her to sign the QDRO by conceding a larger portion of it (more losses to me) but then, the final check I'm supposed to write her is where I get the 'hey, we want a year's interest too' message.

I've sent the info to my attorney but I'm not that confident she will get very far with it. I don't want to end up in court but at the same time, I don't want to be extorted to stay out of court. It's literally extortion.
