I had the exact same thing happen to me in Southern California. Basically there's nothing you can do if the woman wants to place the child up for adoption. Welcome to America.

Only rights he has as a non-married "presumed father" is that he can be entered into the magical land of "child support".

And if he got custody of the child the mother would have to pay child support and we cannot have that.

I don't get why if she is giving the baby up for adoption he cannot adopt it whether he is the father or not?

Surely he cares for the child more than some parents and has worked hard to provide for it? Or is it because he's a single MAN?
