Time and again we've gone over the facts which show a lack of women in STEM field, et al, to be the result of self-selection, as part of our analysis of the wage gap; however, I haven't seen much when it comes to female dominated fields and men.

Do men self-select out of female fields, or is there discrimination?

The only things I recall seeing are that men face discrimination in teaching, especially early education, as a result of pedophile stereotypes; and, that men self-select out of nursing, despite usually being paid more because of their greater average strength (i.e. greater ability to help patients with limited mobility, including trauma victims).
