This does seem like a better way to handle it, all things considered.

We can't just submit one post -- it never makes it off of 'new' that way. The feminists keep it as close to '0' as possible, hoping that their brigading will fly under the radar.

The people here love to damn the consequences, but this is what happens when you have no actual moderation. The trolls overrun the place, and people start acting like dicks to each other because they -- rather than the moderators -- end up playing trollhunter. People end up submitting a post a dozen times because they never actually get to see it -- it drops off /new long before that.

When trolls overwhelm a place, as they have done here, any actual discussion becomes impossible -- which is why the feminists troll this place. They aren't here to harass us. They're hear to prevent us from getting anything done.

But the average redditor is some idealistic little 20 year old who thinks that all moderation exists to punish dissent. They haven't observed social dynamics long enough to understand why it exists, or what happens when it doesn't.

When you use the methods of your enemies how do you tell foe from friend. Violence only begets violence. Fear leads to anger, anger to hate , and hate to suffering.

We have had many civil activist use many methods to have their ideas heard. The ideas that never really are heard are from people who use the types of methods you are describing. Yes while in the short term it may work to ones benefit it will ultimately hinder any movement. We can not and should not ever use tactics that put s us in an ethical situation. Just because the big kid keeps covering our mouth doesn't mean we should do the same, they will call us women haters.

I did address it. I called the comparison farcical and ridiculous.

I said you were being idiotic in your attempt at hyperbole by comparing National nuclear policy to the community standards of Facebook.

The point is not to silence the misandrists. It is to use the tools that are being used to silence us, to show the misandrists that it is in their interests to rethink their policy on censorship, as their rhetoric is demonstrably as offensive as they claim ours to be. I see it as placing a child on "time out". It is a means of discipline meant to correct bad behaviour and not to punish for the sake of punishment.

If it provides them insight as to why no one should be doing it, and it is kept to obvious cases of misandry as opposed to simply groups by and for women, I see no issue.

They already do call us women haters. That is why we maintain our position of speaking out against anti-male hatred and not pro-woman speech.

How is it that this subreddit understands analogies so poorly?

I understand analogy extremely well, actually. I use analogy quite often in my arguments. In my original response, I even explain that I understood what Insomnolence_soul was trying to convey. That said, using such a hyperbolic example, one that is clearly far outside the scope of the primary so as to be Dadaist in its usage, serves no meaningful purpose. So yeah, try again.

It is called a natural responsive escalation, one that is wholly appropriate in order to convey an idea to a person who is unable or unwilling to see, using more moderate methods, how their similar behaviour is causing harm to those around them.

You definitely aren't missing the fact that the analogy is about isolating an argument and applying it to a different situation to show how wrong that type of thinking is. You've nailed it. I've already explained this once to you. I am not wasting further time or effort doing it again. You are either incapable of basic understanding, or are being deliberately obtuse. Either way, unless you have anything further to contribute beyond half-assed sarcasm, I see no reason to continue arguing.
