Don't help her with credit card bills in her name at all unless you can spare it.

Invest in property as soon as you can. That 30k rental home you have can potentially become your new home in case of a divorce and the rent you save can be a life saver.

Invest more in property but start a business and buy that property in the name of your business and never let her know of it. Be financially prudent and don't accustom her to a life beyond your means. You as a man are not out of the doghouse until you have financial independence from your job.
