I'm not sure if it would technically be stealing, but is it okay if we copy+paste deliberately inflammatory or enraging articles into a self-post so that people can read and comment and "WTF mate?" without funding the haters?
Sites devoted to "pushing the envelope" (read: troll-baiting) are only getting richer the more we give them pageviews for their shitty and unenlightened malarkey, and while it's sometimes fun to let the hate flow and read those articles or watch those videos, our traffic quite literally feeds the trolls who write the unhelpful trash, giving them a monetary incentive to keep putting out trashy articles to stir up ire for profit and lulz.
When Christina Hoff Sommers goes on MSNBC to be obviously trolled by Don Lemon's less-talented cousin and all his friends, it's our duty to support Sommers in her efforts to get the word out about men and boys. It should NOT be a consequence that we then pay the paychecks of the trolls so that they can keep on trolling. Every time we give a feminist blog or a yellow journalist or Anita Sarkeesian pageviews, we pay them to continue putting out their unhelpful and annoying crap.
Wouldn't it just be easier to copy+paste offensive or inflammatory articles into a self-post and then put a link to the article if you feel like supporting troll-baiting?
