So, I am currently reading What Do Women Want?: Adventures in the Science of Female Desire and an interesting "theme" in there is that women's sexuality is suppressed because of, you guessed it, Patriarchy.
I am only halfway through so far, but I am starting to wonder if the book actually doesn't make a much better argument for us to living in a patriarchal society?
For one, the book points out that women, as a group, are much more sexual. Really, pretty much anything turns them on, even a pair of apes going at it. They also seem to be very, biologically, aroused when they see an erect penis, an Adonis with a flaccid one though apparently does nothing.
So I am wondering, maybe we do live in a Matriarchal society? If:
- You create a story line where the other sex always wants it.
- At the same time you tell your own sex you don't.
The smart women will figure out that they can use sex as a way to control the other sex. If you want, turn men into puppets of their own desire.
Yeah, it sounds conspiracy theoryish and I admit quite "out there", but I don't think it's any further out there than the concept of The Patriarchy™, is it?
