Not that it should even matter, but I am a white hetero male.

I had an addiction that wreaked havoc on my life. It went on for several years and was caused by abuse that I had received as a child.

My psychologist suggested that I write a blog to address my addiction, and I wrote one that was open and honest about what I had experienced. In it, I spared no prisoners, and I was as hard on myself as I had been on others.

A feminist journalist contacted me to write about my experience. To make a long story short, her piece was very...skewed. I didn't think it did justice to my experience or to the experience of other people battling the same kind of addiction. It made me rethink a lot of things about the feminist movement and about journalism in general.

Anyway, that's my story. Hope you liked it.
