The website has a whole section about "What if the woman is abusive too? Research shows that women are most likely to be the abused person; however, we know that women can be abusive to their partners as well. Just like men, women sometimes seek power and control by using abuse. It is important for her to get help to change how she deals with her relationship. Her partner may also want support. The Provincial Family Violence Information Line, 310-1818, is available from anywhere in Alberta. In Edmonton, call 211 for information about services. Some women have learned to be abusive in reaction to having been abused. If her partner is attending Changing Ways, it may be helpful for her to get counselling at the same time so they can work on their communication together. She can get referrals to supports in the community by calling our Partner Services at 780-439-4635 ext 227."

Yeh, the more general point stands, female on male is massively under-reported... i think there was a stat that I've never tried to verify that 25% of reported domestic violence was perpetrated by women on men, but I can't remember where it's from. And its a bit of a straw man here because there's nothing wrong with there being DV courses specifically for male perpetrators (especially if they have a research base of what works with men that hasn't been "tested" on women). I like the idea of the alternatives to violence project in the uk (http://www.avpbritain.org.uk) because its unisex and seems to focus on conflict resolution instead of "Domestic Abuse"... No idea if it works though

Abused. What does that mean anyway.

A common legislative technique for killing freedom is to frame laws that are very broad. First it was "rape". That's pretty easy. I can manage to not do that. Then it was "harassment". That's more tricky, but I can stay away from where I'm not wanted. Then harassment was redefined as unwanted attention, even once. That was impossible to avoid unless I waited to receive attention from women, in other words dedicated myself to a monastic life and resigned to die alone. Now it's "abuse". What is that?

It's just a sexist propaganda term in practice, meaning anything a man does or says to a woman that she decides she doesn't like.
