Oh ok, so if he's hit once it doesn't count as abuse. Likewise I assume if he just gets mad once and beats her that doesn't count as being abusive, right?

This means that the statistic is more likely to be 1 in 13 men experiencing comparable levels of domestic abuse as women.

A lack of male specific research also means that much of the evidence base will be gendered - having been conducted upon women.

Men aren't abused as much according to official stats.

BTW we don't really collect official stats on men.

Therefore caution should be exercised to ensure that inaccurate assumptions are not drawn about male victim's needs and experiences which are often distinctly different from those of women.

At least they're recognizing that's it's possible for a man to be a victim or a woman...it's something I guess.
