Anyway, perhaps s/he assesses arguments based on their merits and not who made them. And to be clear, I don't think it's a new account of an old user; that wasn't the point. The point was that you dismissed the argument because of the age of the account when your account is only 4 months old (and you didn't say otherwise until I made my comment).

Arguing that being intentionally politically incorrect doesn't weaken your position in today's politically lockjawed world is like marching recklessly across punji traps because you refuse to believe sticks can be weaponized.

The MRM has been wildly politically incorrect since the inception of the online version. At times it 'placated' and toned down and sought 'alliance', when the majority became convinced (or the owner of a prestigious website) that such was the best option.

Each and every time that option was chosen, we were rebuffed, smeared, and ridiculed. Each time this happened, the MRM bifurcated, and the 'extremists' were the ones that grew. Each and every time.

This time will be no different, you 'new MRM' types are no smarter (and in a lot of cases, quite a bit less intelligent) than the folks whose tactics you eschew.

I'm no fan of Paul Elam, for more personal reasons, but on a 'professional' level, the man has the most effective stance going. That site is easily the most influential 'MRA' site there is, even if you include this sub.

One other thing that happened during these periods, is that a small number of MRAs were persuaded by feminists that 'working together' was possible. Nearly all of those MRAs have since disappeared off the radar. Some have come back even more 'extreme'.

The only tool tyrrany can use is ignorance. Totalitarianism depends on compliance, and Political Correctness depends on peer enforcement. The binding force among all of those if fear. Fear of looking bad actually chief among them. "If I speak out, I make myself a target. Therefore, I should not speak out, but if I do, I should make the target as small as possible". Prudent thinking. And if you are that concerned, then I suggest you relinquish your username and simply lurk....because you will not accomplish anything 'they' are not willing to let us with that strategy. Allowing the criticism we receive to dictate tactics is handing the Feminist mover and shakers the steering wheel for the Mens Movement. A social cattle prod, keeping us away from things they cherish, steering us toward 'victories' far down our priority list.

Look, for example, at how Feminists support our criticism of 'traditional' roles as the yoke it was on men, yet refuse to allow that female behaviour is what reinforces that supporter role in men. Or that any laws should be changed in light of the unfairness of this.

Criticize on end of that argument, and not the other, and the Mens Movement goes where you want it to.

Are you being physically threatened? Are you threatening me? If so, well then I see we have a problem. More likely, you were referring to the vague threat of losing your job, or having a White Knight or two get in your face. In any case, that's the risk of being an activist.

It would be cool if someone would point out to the complainers that actually arguing the point would be a big step in the direction of not getting insulted. It may not show chronologically on the thread, but I always start out with at worst a chiding tone, and I pick at people if they dodge. There's a lot of false flaggers here, it's an effective strategy.

As for insisting i have the high ground, of course I do. If I didn't think I did, I probably wouldn't have said anything in the first place. Much like pretty much anyone else on this sub. The point of argument is not to reach consensus, it is to battle for the high ground.

If you insist decorum is more important than a quick, to the point method like directly challenging a person, may I suggest you lobby the mods for a more restrictive policy on concern trolls here. Since the vast majority of those I challenge are feminist trolls (confirmation bias? I dunno, some of them surprised me by turning out to be), why waste my time with a considered, incisive response?

TL:DR You want an elevated level of discourse, radically reduce the level of concern trolling around here, so we're not all wasting our time doing it.
