My, how completely unsurprised I am. It's almost as if not hiring the best person for the job has negative consequences or something...

Then you haven't been paying attention. It always ends in either fraud or a public breakdown for which everyone else is blamed.

Is it bad that as an American, I looked at the $30000 and thought "that's it? I'd love to have politicans that only screwed us out of $30k"

[–]by_myself 43 points44 points45 points 8 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

The alleged frauds relate to misuse of a government department corporate credit card to purchase items for her own use, exceeding $30,000 in value.

...

It was alleged that between February 1, 2014 and July 24, 2017 Miller also dishonestly gained approximately $45,000 in benefit for herself using private health insurance of the Queensland Museum.

Together that's $75K, but given the way it was revealed in two parts, there may be more that wasn't disclosed in this article.

It makes sense that the President of the largest economy on Earth spends more money stupidly than the "Chief scientist" of an Australian STATE

[+]Pimpinsmurf -30 points-29 points-28 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

economy or not, since we are in the hole over 20 trillion dollars maybe every dollar counts in comparison to his golf game. let alone how much him and his family has already drained the US for security going to NY and back.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or maybe Obama’s shouldn’t have doubled the debt? I’m guessing you weren’t crying then.

[–]FuckingWhiteCisMale 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Huh....20 tril?

Was 30 last year........Wonder whats happened there then.

[–]Otlot 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just wanted to fact check you.. was never over 20 trillion. Only reached 20 in 2017.

I dunno where you get your facts but it hasn't been over 30 tril that I know of (and the rest of the US for that matter.) Might want to get your facts straight.

And their response is "prove it" like their ignorance is ok, and won't take any real facts because it's all "fake news."

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points29 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

And when Obama was in power people bitched about the cost of his family vacation costs. in particular, i remember one of those trips to spain that michelle and the daughters took that cost tens of millions of dollars.

they're the most important family in the world, its going to cost a shit ton to protect them when they go somewhere. what do you want, the president and his family to stay in a basement 24/7 like you?

“To suppose something means to assume something. When used in a passive construction, you use a form of the verb to be plus the past participle of to suppose, which is supposed. To be supposed to means to be expected to, to be obliged to.”

...so it’s supposed to.

For someone so critical you sure seem to not give a fuck about doing things right yourself.

Edit: http://www.5minuteenglish.com/mar20.htm

Also, here’s this. You seem like someone who would have problems with saying “use to”, as well.

There was nothing passive about my comment. You should take in the information I gave you and change. Remember, it’s “supposed to” and “used to”...

Also, it’s “straight up”.

There’s a G in straight. I promise.

Edit:

I'd rather take my information in as something that can change. That's why I use that wording.

What does this mean? I’ve read it several times and I can’t figure out what you’re trying to say.

I don't like to speak in dogmatic tones, but to present information as I know it.

What does this mean?

You're comment is passive aggressive horeshit though. I'll say that strait up.

I missed the you’re. I think you meant “Your”.

No. I was being pretty outwardly disrespectful in my original comment...and I was criticizing your content, as well. I’m not surprised you were unable to make that connection, though.

Tbh I'm not angry about politicians taking bribes, just that the bribes are so low

[–]Hohohoju 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You’d prefer them to take higher bribes?

[–]whenrudyardbegan 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, wouldn't you? It's pretty fucking insulting that a goddamn US senate vote can be bought for like $20 grand

[–]Hohohoju 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nah I kind of feel glad that they were too stupid to get more money, makes them look like even more of a piece of shit. If they’re gonna be bribed, it’ll happen no matter what, but seeing them dragged in front of the media having to explain how they sold out for less than the price of a small hatchback gives me a bit of schadenfreude.

[–]whenrudyardbegan 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha two sides of the same coin

muh diversity

[–]MuffinsHutchins 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Honestly this would have been more of a ppd if she was fired from the position after demonstrating she clearly doesn't have the skills necessary for the job and only got hired for being female. (Not saying she isn't qualified for the job, just giving an example)

It sucks that she soured the position for future women.

[–]Tgunner192 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She soured it for diversity hires that aren't qualified, not woman.

[+]kaczan3 -7 points-6 points-5 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Tell me, where do simps like you come from? Women demand from governments these gender quotas because they can't do the job, then they use that to steal money from people, and your first thought is "Oh no, poor wymmynz!"?

[–]l4dlouis 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well not all women are like this, but thanks for making it clear you just come here to hate on women for no reason. I’m all for a good pussypass getting shut down but to imply that all women would do this is absurd lol

[–]kaczan3 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How am I "hating on women"? I just said they are not the exclusive victim like that poster implied. They are actually the least important victim because they in general demanded, support, and use gender quotas. And I'm specifically pointing this out in my post. How is this "for no reason"? Where did I imply all women would steal money? Funny how you criticize not me, but words you try putting in my mouth, because someone criticizing women just makes you uncomfortable.

[–]OneSixthIrish -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Whoa buddy, looks like you took the wrong door. You're in /r/pussypassdenied not /r/theredpill. I can see how you could make the mistake but you should probably take your bucket of bullshit right back there.

[–]kaczan3 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So you have no argument except "you's bad person"? I get it, you don't deal with people like me. People pointing out facts, like the fact about gender quotas. You just want to sumbit and take it.

[–]OneSixthIrish -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't think you can call any of the garbage that spills from your mouth a fact without proof. Before you tell me this news story is proof of all gender quotas being used by women to get jobs they cannot do and defraud them, this is a single case, not actual proof of some overall scheme.

I also didn't call you a bad person, just that you own a bucket full of proverbial bullshit, and that you spout garbage. I believe that since I am making this claim about you, one single person, that this one single case does provide me with enough proof for those two things.

Finally, it is laughable that you are trying to call me out for wanting to 'submit and take it' from some other source as a bad thing, but expect me to do the same for you.

I think that it might do you well to define hypocrisy in regards to my previous statement.

Funny how still no rebuttals of arguments, just general insults and projections. You're scared to even think bad thoughs about women because the goddes my punish you.

Initially read as "Chiensland Queef Scientist". No I don't know what a Chiensland is either.

[–]lolniclol 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There is so many excellent women scientists, i dunno why it was so hard to get a good one.

[–]Extesht 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She might have been a good scientist and just not a good person. Then again I don't know anything about what she did.

[–]chambertlo 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course she was. CTFU. Female priveldge is a bitch.

[+]Vawnn -11 points-10 points-9 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

How is this PPD?

That could just as easily been a man and everything would have went the same way.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But a man didn't get hired because of his penis....

[+]iTzinmyblood -7 points-6 points-5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah it's really not PPD.

It's just someone being picked for a position because of her gender etc and then just fucking it up because positions of power corrupt people.

[–]Vawnn -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh I didn't realize she was picked because of her gender.

I didn't see that in the article anywhere.

[–]thinsoldier 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Chief scientists but all info given about her background makes it seem like her whole career prior to that appointment was just adminstrating museums.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I hate to be the devil's advocate, but are we absolutely certain that she isn't just a tranny?

[–]strayacarnt 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I guess that's good for diversity too?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, but in this case, it's a tranny who is advancing the evil patriarchy's debate, "and it is a problem".
