The gender paygap in the 2017 German elections. Below left the main opposition goes with 'who works 100% shouldn't earn 21% less'. Why should this win a man's vote?

An average decline of -0.1 years as per the headline. In fact it's 0 years for women and -0.2 years for men.

German election. Greens and misandry. It would be shocking if we were not becoming inured to this kind of hatred.

Feminazis co-opt German school curriculum for misandist propaganda. More BS than under the Third Empire. This is an exam paper.

Another largely male pursuit is demonified and the world is a poorer place for it. Is there a connection - must men do more than merely go their own way?

Men have wives, daughters, sisters, friends... if the pay gap were real, promising to address it would be a great way to court the votes of most men. I mean, I'm not black, but I certainly felt motivated to vote for the county commissioner who was brave enough to mention that our school zoning was gerrymandered to increase racial segregation...

I am sure that some are prepared to vote against their immediate interests in order to promote social justice, I suspect they are a minority. At a time when young men are becoming interested in the alt right it seems crazy to alienate them, almost as if the SPD simply does not care about them or their vote.

Equal pay is not against anyone's interests, which is probably why all civilized countries already have it.

I don't think the SPD is worried about a fascist resurgence. Germany has already followed that path to its logical conclusion.

The only thing that worries the SPD more than a fascist resurgence is the prospect of having to cooperate with a real left wing party.   It was partly their constant bickering with the communists in the 1930s about the true nature of the left that helped the Nazis get into power.

Below right the ruling party shows its desperation for population increase. Above left The Greens, long since taken over by the PC agenda, go for vague smoke and mirrors. Above right I don't think anyone cares in the slightest.

Who produces 100% shouldn't earn 21% less.

The original slogan is advocating that all full-time jobs should have the same wages and benefits. Pampered SJWs don't want that at all.

"Leistet" is used in the sense of 'performance', so I would take it as women working as well as men deserve equal pay. Which as we know is what they get. In the age group portrayed on the poster they may even make more. Of course by making this their main cause the SPD can avoid actual political discourse that might reveal that they present no real alternative solutions to our current problems .

The problem is that women don't work 100% but about 80% of what men work (when they work full-time, of course in rich countries more an more women are working only part time.).

Who works 100% doesn't get paid 21% less. That's how it works.

The number I'm interested in is workplace fatality rate. I can't find that for Germany by gender. Mmmmm.

It's available for the US though in wikipedia and on a government website.

The fatality rate is 11 to 13 times higher in men. Let's put that on the same scale as the 21% wage gap.

Female fatalities = 344

Male fatalities = 4492

Fatality gap = 4492-344 = 4148

Fatality gap as percentage = (4148 / 344) * 100 = 1205%

Hard to find but here is an article referencing the numbers: https://manndat.de/maennergesundheit/toedliche-arbeitsunfaelle-ein-trauriges-privileg-der-maenner.html

Men account for: 75% of work related accidents; 98% of fatal accidents.

91% of work caused disease; but only 83% of disability pensions awarded.

Well done you. So doing that again with the German numbers...

Female fatalities = 30

Male fatalities = 293

Fatality gap = 293-30 = 263

Fatality gap as percentage = (263 / 30) * 100 = 876%

Occupational fatality: Gender

The majority of occupational deaths occur among men. In one US study, 93% of deaths on the job involved men, with a death rate approximately 11 times higher than women. The industries with the highest death rates are mining, agriculture, forestry, fishing, and construction, all of which employ more men than women. Deaths of members in the military is currently above 90% men.

It will win a mans vote because we have this in built "protect the women" drive that takes a lot to overcome

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sure, men would not vote against the fair sex, we are all splendid chaps. But this is to be the focus of their election campaign. Like we didn't have more pressing matters to worry about.

At this point I'm semi-convinced that pushing Feminism is the Modern version of Bread and Circus'

They're pushing this shit because talking about the real issues is too hard/ awkward/ painful/ embaressing

Just for the sake of completeness I searched for news on the election poster. Bavarian Rundfunk, a respected source in Bavaria - not so much here in Lower Saxony, rebuts the statistics on the poster. Bavaria of course is deeply CSU - the Bavarian opponents of the SPD, and this news article does appear to be essentially copy/pasted from their website:

http://www.br.de/nachrichten/faktencheck/spd-wahlplakat-uebertreibt-lohnluecke-fuer-frauen-100.html

Machine translation from the dreaded google was perfectly readable IMO. Whichever language you choose to view it from the maths is the same.

The first shot, of many, which whittled the figure ever nearer to zero is this quote from the Federal Statistical Office : "Almost three quarters of the unadjusted gender pay gap can be attributed to structural differences (...)..."

IMHO the SPD, pandering to the female vote, with a strikingly visual feminist agenda, at a time when disaffected and disadvantaged young men are flirting with the "further right than at present" is grossly cynical and short sighted. They would much rather win over women from the middle classes than they would rescue struggling males who may propel the right into 3rd placed party in parliament.
