After reading so many stories of feminist ideologues crawling out of the slime and subjecting men and boys to shaming sessions and demands to respect all women's achievements, International Women's Day has made me sick to my stomach.
For any of those outsiders who are frothing at the mouth, gathering their pitchforks, and screaming about my misogyny and toxic macho masculinity overload, let me explain that I do appreciate women. My first ever favorite female protagonist in media was Ellen Ripley with Sarah Conner an easy second. Many of my role models were women with one in particular remaining so. I adore female strength and perseverance.
But, and I emphasize BUT...
If you go back to my post on Loathing Girl Power here https://old.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/kzlysb/i_loathe_girl_power/
You'll find that this day has lived up to my major pet peeve: The caveat that I debase myself as a man and take my lumps while women can say and do anything derogatory about, and to, my person. A man who, nowadays, finds this form of Female Empowerment triggering after suffering at the hands of girls and women in my youth.
Just like how current media is rife with this toxic depiction of female appreciation, so has this "day".
Well, I will now speak out against it and celebrate women in my own way while retaining my personal dignity.
Feminism's dirty, greasy paws are all over International Women's Day. End of story.
