Hey guys.

So I met a girl online and we hit it off and deside to meet in person. We got along great, and the conversation just flowed, but she appeared a little closed off, physically, and her eye contact wasn't the greatest now that I think of it. Our conversations went pretty deep and she mentioned she was a little reserved about meeting people, and of course online. Alright, I can keep my distance. She warms up after I tease her about it, so she i comfortable being around me, I figure.

So we end up speaking for maybe three and a half hours, and I walk her to her car. She's direct but awkward, stating she had a great time and would very much like to see again. She comes in for the hug and then when we part, I reached over and gave her a quick kiss. She kisses me back pretty dang well and then breaks off to say our goodbyes and off we go.

So a couple days later, I send her a text asking her out a couple days later. I hear back two days later and her text is the following:

“Lol. XXXX, I enjoyed meeting you as well. I wasn't a fan of how forward you were at the end however. I had expressed that I was a bit guarded earlier & your advance felt forceful to me. There are reasons why I am cautious, good ones, logical ones. I don't necessarily think you meant ill but I felt a little caught off guard & low-key disrespected. Thought?”

So I’m guessing she has an experience of sexual violence or acts and believes she does. Big red flag pops up and I think, ‘don’t reply, block her’.

Then another part of me says to comes out and just say something along the idea of

“XXXX, I’m sorry I behaved myself in an overly-forward manner, it was never my intent to disturb you. I felt we had a great connection and misjudged your response to a first date goodnight kiss, despite our earlier conversation you mentioned in your text.:

So I will not meet with her, or even ask her out, I just want to seal this in the best manner I can. I'm over-reacting for sure, but this has me really bothered.

Thoughts? I owe her nothing but want to see if there’s anything I’m missing. I had a dear friend falsely accused of rape, so anything resembling a set up alluding to a false accusations has me needing advice. Thank you.
