Got me excited over nothing. Whelp, I'm off to go lecture for 3 hours so that I can fund my STEM degree. At least my female labmate on a women in STEM fellowship is gone for a university-funded women in STEM event today so I don't have to listen to her complain about how hard it is to be a woman in STEM.

Sigh, the title got me excited, and I'm a girl. I can sort of understand Trump's rational, after all, he gets a lot of crap from the women's march, and mostly rightly so, although I support him against false accusations, even though I'd love to send him off to Mars, but Intel, what reason do they have?! It’s not actually about getting women in STEM it’s all PR. $500million invested in looking like a diverse, progressive entity out-weighs the costs of not doing it. Promoting women in STEM makes intel look good, other companies want to partner to leech off of the good publicity, all companies get together and shake hands pretending to care about progressive issues and smile as their wallets become fatter. THAT is the real reason behind it all. Believe me if spending this money to promote hiring lampshades was considered positive and progressive they would do that too...
