Her plea was on a basis the relationship was strained and they had been arguing about money and family issues.

Thats not a reason to try and kill a guy, either work it out or leave!

She was in a highly emotional state after she had consumed a lot of alcohol.

Thats not a defense...

She can't understand she behaved in this manner

Thats a bad sign, not a good one.

Its another example of the two tiered justice system emerging in the UK and its frightening.

It should definitely be pointed out, for those who don't read the article and just the title/blurbs at the top of daily mail articles, that the man defendant requested the judge not send her to jail.

"'Importantly, he does not want you to go to jail. Courts are not bound to follow the wishes of victims but it is right to take account of his view.'"

His view point was most likely the deciding factor in this lack of sentence
