If the dine and dash dater was a woman would this be news even? I have seen this all over national media, when I know of several women who use tinder as a free meal ticket its even happened to me yet pitchforks are out for this man and now their putting some new charges on him.

While what he did was certainly wrong and he deserves to be punished, a woman doing this would NEVER be charged with a felony. Moreover, the restaurant would never excuse the man from the bill the way they did with several of these women.

I don’t care for this argument. Jetting on a meal is not equivalent to expecting it to be paid for by company that stays for the duration. The former is obviously worse. If guys are having trouble with this it’s as simple as being a man and suggesting to split the check or prior to the date being explicit that it’s not even a date, it’s a getting aquatinted sort of thing. This isn’t the hill to die on.

Imagine getting back every dollar spent on a date that didn't pan out? He probably bolted on the women he didn't feel a connection with and stayed for dessert with the others.

He's pretty much stealing from women and restaurants.

It sucks that women never pay for their food, but this isn't exactly the same thing. We know who's expected to pay, and we're not faced with a date that just up and leaves in the middle of the meal.

So false equivalency. Amusement material at best.

That said, I do find it very amusing because those women were expecting:
1. Free food and entertainment
2. Possibly sex

Men expect possible sex, and we get stuck with the bill while women never put out under any circumstances. So this is a funny form of justice. For once, women get lead on and come out behind or empty handed. Just desserts.
