It finally happened, a creepy male coworker of mine asked me out. He is the only male teacher in my school building at a rural elementary school. He was new last year along with myself, and we are both in our 20s. I was on the same teaching team as him last year when I was married. I now have since gotten divorced and moved to a different grade level. Even though we are on different teams, he still comes to see me, texts/calls, and tries to be my friend. I have not answered any calls, nor returned them or followed up. I text back during work hours if it’s work-related.

Every time he lingers down my hallway, he starts the convo with, “oh I have kidney stones,” (that’s so sexy🤢) or “oh, my friend just died.” He even had the AUDACITY to complain about doing LAUNDRY, as the other females in the room were dealing with a mother in hospice, and the death of their father. The dude is clearly looking for a mommy and a therapist, and I have kept it professional since day 1. He once asked me to listen to his sermon, and I literally said, “I don’t feel comfortable discussing religious beliefs with coworkers.”

When he asked me out, he said, “I know you just got a divorce and are going through a lot, BUT...” as if I would just go out with him because he acts nice, is white/male, and has a penis. He literally asked if we could go out this weekend as in two days from now, and had no clear plan. Even if this situation was acceptable to ask me out, I still would say no because of the short notice and lack of plans! I know he has asked out a handful of other women, some who he didn’t even realize were married or pregnant. He cannot pick up on social cues at all. Anyways, I made it clear I was not interested. It was an easy NO.

Past me probably wouldn’t have even said no, and just been nice to him awhile. Since FDS, I don’t even want to be friends with the dude as he adds no value to my life. Stay strong queens! Happy Thursday!
