I am on the hiring committee for the company I work for and we mandated a quota for different race, sex, handicaps etc..the list is rather large.

Anyways our average applicant sex rate is approx 86% male. But they want 50% female. How is the not straight up discrimination against men? We needed a position filled, so we hired someone who was under qualified but was Asian and female. We had over 70 applicants apply for this position. 65 of them men....

Why is this ok? Like I get under the table sexism and racism exist, I'm not saying it doesn't. But now we are saying, "in order to not be seen as sexist or racist, we are going to give them a handicap, and white men can just suck it up"

I would present a rather perfect candidate and they would say... Oh no we can't take him, he's a male...like.... Wtf now it's not even under the table... It's a straight up policy
