Of course we have those thoughts too brother. Dude, I implore you to read 1 Cor 15 immediately. It talks exactly about this. If it’s not real and Christ is not raised then we of all people are the most to be pitied because this is all that there is to life and we’re denying so much apparently. But if this is all there is to life, pain and pleasure don’t make sense, and neither does any tinge of morality. Existence doesn’t make sense without God. God gives order and meaning to all things because all things are authored and through the world we see his handiwork undeniably. I’ve had these thoughts before too and it is ALWAYS the enemy or our flesh tempting us. Notice how it’s always centered around the one thing that God has not blessed us with yet in accordance with his will. Satan knows how to sift us like wheat. But recognize that even if we’re dupes about the sexual stuff, that doesn’t explain away the rest of the truth. God is still God, alone. And if he’s God, it’s pretty obvious from creation alone and the affects of sin on it that God’s human sexual law is absolutely true. Meditate on truth and not feelings. Speak truth to the darkness and rebuke it and then remember the all encompassing supremacy of Christ once again and taste the sweetness of God’s word. Sweeter than honey to the tongue and purer than the purest of gold or silver.

If you are not actively revelling in the flesh because scripture tells us not to, then you are regarding it.

Feelings are oftentimes based on fleshly desires, and we know that above all things the heart is deceptive. Just because you have them doesn't mean you're doing something wrong.

It’s not as great as it seems. Not fulfilling. Just stick to Him and delight in Him. Look to Him and for Him.

Talk to girls. But do it God’s way. Really delight in Him.

You need to be meeting up with another believer regularly, to disciple one another, pray together and study the scriptures. I think you would find that really helpful. Even if you're in a liberal area, there must be a couple of other conservative believers around? Maybe get in touch with your priest and ask him to set you up with another guy for discipleship. I'm sure he'd be delighted to help out.

I get that feeling fairly often, but I 100% know Paul is right when he says we need to not live for the flesh. Having sex before marriage is 1000% not worth it, by definition you are lowering your standards, and women with lower standards are at an infinitely higher risk for STDs. From a logical perspective as well as spiritual, it is not worth it.

If you want to meet people your age, try going finding a Christian youth group in your area. If you expand your circle to protestants, you can cast a wider net. There is no need to feel like you need to find a wife right away and settle down.

I tried to establish and maintain a boundary of kissing only with each woman I dated. One girlfriend put my hand on her breast and I still struggle with that memory to this day. Sometimes I wonder how much further she would have been willing to go, but am then glad I don't have to struggle with any other memories. That GF was better at kissing than my wife too, so it's sometimes hard not to compare. Anyway, I'm glad all the rest of my firsts are with my wife, so the struggle with past memories isn't worse.

The thing that gives me the biggest pause is my concern that the only reason I'm pursuing any spiritual connection with God is because of a subconscious realization that I lack the coldness of secular people and their ability to detach actions from (imaginary or real) spiritual consequences, especially in regards to sex.

I think what you're saying is that some secular people will go after what they want and not having a relationship with God means they will do so unabashedly.

There's a huge gulf between wanting and having. Often we want things, and overblow them in our heads. When we finally have them, they both fail to live up to the fairy tale we'd created and cause us far more trouble than they're worth.

I just feel "trapped" in my head so much of the time and like a societal outcast, since it feels like so many people go through life without any kind of serious spiritual deliberation and turn out "fine".

David was a man favored by God. Then he saw Bathsheba. His one want in the world. My guess is he also had 'I do all these great things for God, why can't I have her' bouncing through his skull too. Why had God blessed a convert and a foreigner with this hottie?

David took what he wanted. In the end, it wound up costing him, emotionally as his favorite son died, and he had to suppress a rebellion. In the end, David was 'fine' too, if you discount all the spiritual and emotional damage he did to himself.

With due respect, please lose the Roman Catholicism. Jesus Christ is not the problem. The Roman Catholic Church and similar churches are the problem. Why? How is it that in very heavily Catholic countries, images or statues of Mary are plenty to be found? Why was the "M" found on the purple shield in Pope John Paul II's coat of arms and not "JC"? Would the said "M" mean Mary? In the area of confession, true Christians DO NOT need a priest to confess sins to. Just Jesus Christ will do. God used the apostle Paul through his letters to the churches how a church is to be governed according to God's own will. Also, sure the Pharisees were hypocrites but they were married and Jewish religious leaders were married men. A Jewish man wishing to be a leader HAD to be married. Please read 1 Timothy 3 what God requires of church leaders. How is it with Catholic priests not being married and in direct violation of this book and chapter? Also please read Revelation 17 with special attention to verses 1 and 4. In the latter verse, are Catholic church leaders wearing either scarlet or purple skullcap-like caps

and wearing pectoral crosses of gold sometimes with precious stones? How is it that a few popes were notorious for their sexual immorality as opposed to married true Christian leaders who follow 1 Timothy 3? Let me try to liken God's commandments for church leaders to the United States Constitution. We know that if a law that Congress passed and signed by the President is found unconstitutional by the federal courts, it is no longer binding on the American citizenry. If a church leader in a church is unmarried and preaches doctrines that are unbiblical, then such doctrines are not binding on true Christians. This, sir, may be food for thought.
