While grown women are responsible for their own actions, they were also raised by a family and society that instilled certain destructive values in them that would lead them to feel certain ways about men, what is expected of men, and what is expected or tolerable in women.
how would you raise your daughter to counteract this starting from a young age (3-5)? studies have said that personality is largely set by age 8 so how would you instill these values in a very young child who probably would not understand advanced data or history? I assume the lessons would mostly need to be experience based but what experiences create the most positive outcome?
additionally, how would you raise your daughter to be both vigilant against assault while also not creating fear of all men in general? how do you toe the line between safety and not generalizing all men as predators?
I think just being a great, supportive, emotionally vulnerable, invested, and interested father alone goes a long way to proving not all men are bad but do they still need to be aware of safety as well and not blindly trust any man? and where is that line?
additionally, a relationship with your SO is the model by which a child will often develop their own relationships. make sure your relationships are equal between you and your SO, share chores, responsibility, and equally open with emotion.
yet, this doesn't always work. for example, my grandparents were the shining example of love, devotion, and patience, yet my mother only dated/married violent abusers (thus raising another generation of dysfunctional humans). so where did the disconnect happen?
I think it's often a lost cause trying to change the patterns of an adult but we can definitely raise the next generation to be better.
