So the guy who helped mediate the divorce is a friend of both of ours and my ex wife’s boss.

I caught up with him the other day, and he volunteered out of nowhere that he understood why it was impossible to be married to her, and essentially acknowledged her untreated severe mental illness (which she is very good at hiding). I told him my only real regret from the relationship was not committing her when I had the chance. He also said she continued to have various plastic surgeries, and I said how she had been such a beautiful woman until she suddenly developed a desire to get surgery after we got divorced.

Still feeling like a winner. Thanks to him I wound up paying her 1/3 less than my original offer to her, which I made before she dragged things into the courts and wasted two years of my life. If I have a little bit of luck with a startup, it will be 1/20 as much since she insisted on cash and refused equity because I’m ‘a big loser’.

The best revenge is living well. Right now I am sipping a strong drink by the water, while I bask in the warm sun and a gentle breeze plays out over me. On Friday I just realized one of my dreams that I have worked 20 years towards. It came about because I did the one thing that she threatened me repeatedly that if I did, she would divorce me.

Hang in there my brothers. There is a bright and welcoming light once you get through the darkness.
