OP will just click on one or two links and ask again "what's the point of these links?"
[–]GaRGa77 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe OP is not male...
[–]mikesteane 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's a pretty good list. I hope to see OP's comments after he has been through most of those subjects.

Every time I see posts like this from people it's obvious they're cherry picking topics, they won't be back. They sit there whinging about MRAs based on what they've made up in their heads and then they fuck off back to whichever safe spaces they come from. This isn't a topic that's designed to generate discussion, they just want to grandstand and then complain about MRAs from afar.

Now I can’t speak for everyone here but my main goal personally is to see the gender discrimination in courts go away
[–]Lavenderstarz 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Been here for only half an hour, so I might be wrong, but it's critizising people who are trashy against men, i think
[–]ZEGEZOT 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Basically, yes
There is a lot of nitpicking here and a lot of users are just poating stupid feminist stuff. There are actual goals of the movement though. Wed like an end to male circumcision. Wed like an end to alimony or at least have it made more reasonable, women aren't helpless anymore they dont need a man supporting them their whole lives. Equal custody rights only exist in some states and even in those states the overwhelming majority of the time it favors women. Socially it wouls be great if people as a whole understood that sexual issues is not the same as rape or harassment. It would be great if hitting on women wasn't considered sexual harassment just cuz theyre ugly. Not being shamed or cancelled for wanting to do a male oriented project would be great too.

I have a thread you may want to see that could answer your question, OP. But it's waiting for moderator approval.
[–]feminismIsMisandry0 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's true that there's not too much interest because feminists are in the majority and full of hysterical followers anyway.
They hold the universities, the media and at the same time they have a huge influence on governments.
Contradictory studies are censored, researchers who ask themselves questions are fired and excluded from all universities, documentaries are banned from broadcasting. The list goes on and on.
We are at a point where there has been so much brainwashing that resisting no longer has any effect.
We simply have to migrate to a country that is not affected by the extremist ideology of feminism.
I see only two possible choices, Russia or China.
Even though men have always been culturally subordinate to women, it is not as bad in those two countries.

Being in here is a toxic cesspool. Younger men trying to figure out the world and don't know a lot about compassion. Menslib is significantly better when it comes to discussing men's issues without all the feminist trashing circle-jerking. Liberation is about compassion and you will find only hatred here
[–]Maito_Guy 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link
Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha, yeah mens lib where all mens problems are their own fault because of patriarchy and toxic masculinity, so compassionate. Let's ignore the fact that feminists obscure male victims of domestic violence and rape with their study methods, wrote policy to bias the legal system against male victims, run the government funding bodies and charities that ensure DV/survivor services are almost exclusively female only and that they have actively blocked shared parenting and fathers rights in general. We cant point any of that shit out because criticising your ideology hurts you in the hurty place.
When you stop putting your ideology before victims maybe you can talk about compassion.

I think I've been a little guilty of getting sucked into the spectacle and being horrible, I'm going to not try and do that. The tone of your post was pretty rude and I don't think peoples mind ever change when faced with hostility. I believe that your post is done to make you feel good, not change anyone's mind.
If you go looking for bad things, you'll always find them. Menslib and twoX have always been a place for male victims to go to find support. The topic is very dear to me. My friends (feminists) always will listen to male victims and those spaces will always accommodate. It's not my place to decide how people choose to deal with victim-hood; if guys get support here, that's amazing. Just know that other spaces are there as well.
I believe that what you are saying is a mass mischaracterization of feminism. I also think that there's no way I can change your mind. All I can do is continue trying to promote feminism and spaces for male victims. I personally try to make male victims more visible and I'm a feminist.
[–]Maito_Guy 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link
Don't complain when you come in hostile and get hostility back. This is the thing that so many feminists don't understand, whether or not individual feminists are supportive to male victims or not is irrelevant when the feminists in position of power are the ones causing the main problems male victims face and they don't call it out and actively deflect criticism of it by saying "feminism isn't a monolith". Whether you think it is insulting or not the fact is that feminists put their ideology before actually helping the victims.
Then there is the toxicity and inaccuracy of the ideology and the baseless assertions/half truths that most feminists push such as toxic masculinity, patriarchy, objectification, rape culture, the wage gap and just the general notion that women where/are oppressed, that women are victims of anything and everything. You like it because it makes you feel powerful and appeals to the oldest gender role in the book rescuing the damsel.
[–]Burgersaur -5 points-4 points-3 points 5 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link
You're right. I'm not going to be so hostile. Y'all genuinely rustle my jimmies lol. It's way to easy to get sucked into this place and it makes me feel better to call people apes.
I can't change your mind about things. I only know what I experience. Yes, people say dumb stuff online. But in the real world, the people I'm around, and the activist on college campuses are incredibly caring individuals. Y'all love to argue against the feminist spook, the ghost of what you think feminists are. You can focus on, and make visible male victims without having to trash things all the time.
Mostly, I think y'all have problems with terminology. Masculinity has problems; I would hope no one would argue that men don't do toxic things. Male stereotypes need to be debased.
Myself, my friends, and feminists are going to continue trying to help male victims, even with this stereotype that we don't.
Stay well king.
[–]Maito_Guy 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link
You are totally ignoring the point, as I stated it is not a "feminist spook" it is what the feminists in positions of power are doing and the fact that feminists like you bury your head in the sand, play defence for it and don't challenge it. Name me one feminist organisation that is opposing the feminists doing the things I mentioned.
No, my problem is not just with the terminology but the theory behind it and the fact it is used to blame men for their own problems rather than considering external causes. If you are telling victims the reason they aren't expressing emotion and getting help is because of toxic masculinity and covering for the feminists erasing male victims from the data and ensuring there are no services for them then you aren't helping victims.
[–]Burgersaur -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link
I feel like I'm getting really close to getting sucked into another pointless argument. Women's Aid, Voices of men and NOMAS and connect (Male fem groups,) woman's law advocates for male victims. Erica Friedman and joy are advocates for male shelters. Jamie Abrams has a paper called the feminist case for acknowledging women's acts of violence. Zwerling on feminist.com has a paper calling for shelter symmetry. Jennifer Gaboury addresses this topic on feministwire. I could go on, but your just going to dismiss it, whatever.
These ideas don't blame men. Nothing I can do or say will change your mind. It's a tool to understand what's going on. Men don't get help, we need to understand why and fix it. Call it what you want, we need to help men. Mens lib and places like it believe in toxic masculinity but also demonstrably provide spaces to support and help male victims.
[–]Maito_Guy 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
Womens aid does not advocate for men, it is one of the charities that ensures funding is used for female only services. I didn't ask for examples of individual feminists, I didn't ask for examples of groups that pay lip service to male victims, I asked for an example of feminist organisations directly opposing the feminist organisations causing the problems.
You are proving my point, it blames men for not getting help not the system for not providing it, I lived in one of two cities in the UK that offered survivor services for men and had to be referred because I visited their website and it advertised as though it was female only. It also blames men for not opening up despite the fact that when men do they are typically met with indifference and judgement from both sexes. It treats men like defective women for not dealing with trauma in the exact same way as women despite men typically having a different way of processing trauma and emotion. In short it puts all of the blame on the victim and does not even consider external causes(except when it is an opportunity to demonise men)
[–]Burgersaur -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link
Just keep making me jump through more hoops huh? Nothing is ever good enough lol. Posted several groups btw.
Yeah bud, all y'all MRAs do the same thing. Insist that these ideas do something that they don't. No evidence to the opposite will get the idea out of your heads. The blame goes on society and the people that enforce that sterotype. If you can't accept that I can't help you.
[–]Maito_Guy 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You haven't provided what I asked for. None of those groups oppose the feminist groups that ensure all funding goes to female only services(one at least is a charity that does just that) none of them oppose feminist academics that erase male victims from research. I was clear with my request from the start and you naming a few groups that don't come close to doing what I was talking about is bullshit.
The ideas do exactly as I describe. What feminist actually talks about womens responsibility in teaching men not to express emotion and open up such as sexually rejecting men that appear weak or throwing trauma back in their face or using it against them? Feminists tend to claim two contradictory positions: men don't talk about their feelings and men make women do all their emotional labour(i.e don't talk to women about your trauma/emotions)
The bottom line is the concepts I brought up earlier are only interested in victim blaming or blaming men in general not actually representing reality or helping male victims in any way. Are you trying to say that feminists don't blame victims for not seeking help despite feminist organisations ensuring that help isn't there? that is about the worst form of gaslighting I can think of.

[–]ZEGEZOT 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Could you please stop with you holier than thoy attitude and passive aggressive comments?
You are also mischaracterising us as incels. Hypocrite.
Menslib is for people who think that men can be "saved" by things such as takinh estrogen.
[–]ZEGEZOT 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well yes, we oppose feminism because feminism opposes discussion of men's rights other than the notion that they have too many of them. There is clear resentment too any debate about their wants and needs and we're retaliating against people who want us gone. Want to talk about hate? Then look at the feminist brigades and hateposts calling for us to die. Look at the Twitter hashtag killallmen and how often it is used.
[–]Burgersaur -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm pro killallmen. I don't know why all the MRAs start frothing at the mouth when they hear it though. Something about being a MRA takes away the ability to use your thinking skills without drooling.
Not you of course, not all MRAs, but the ones I interact with. There's good MRAs I'm sure but most of them, and the ones in positions of power are at fault. It sucks that you get in the cross hairs. But yeah killallmen.
I hope you're being sarcastic...
