I read the Scum manifesto by Valerie solanas years ago and I just found it funny. It’s just a screed. Hate speech from start to finish with language so colourful all you can do is laugh. Indeed - the problem is NOT that there are people out there who say nasty things. The problem only comes up when we systematically give them high-profile platforms and when they are not even questioned, save for in a few comments (some of which are moderated away).

There are only a few groups that we treat in this way: say criminals, investment bankers, corrupt lobbyists - but that is because of things they or many in their group have done.
